When I said, in this or another thread, that this yew tree was at least 1,000 years old DeputyGary asked how I knew it was that old. I said it was known to be fully grown when the Normans built a church next to it. And, I continued, it was from yews like this that the English archers at Agincourt made their longbows... so DeputyGary wanted to know if I was there.
