The shapes remind me of these colourful steps in Singapore:

Nice shot, lilyalli! Speaking of colourful buildings in Singapore...

This was the old police station and barracks on Hill Street, but it was conserved as a national monument in 1998, and is currently the home of the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts. I'm not sure why they painted all the window shutters in multiple colours, though...

Now that we see what Singapore busses are like, lets compare them with busses from Panama.

It's over two weeks since above post, so I looked for some fruit to continue the theme, but could only come up with the orange/red veg I was rinsing for my lunch - or more pumpkins, so I opted for the radishes, peppers and tomatoes (plus some bits of broccoli, it seems!)

While the title of the previous photo made me shudder , it did put me in mind of this photo, taken a couple of months ago.

A 19th century Latin missal originally in the Vatican, it is now housed permanently in the museum of our local church.

Mags, that reminds me of the time a friend took me to Mass. I of course took along my missal from when I grew up going to church (and Catholic first grade). Once the Mass started I couldn't follow along as I used to. To my surprise the Mass was in English and the Missal in Latin!

Oh wow szabs, that sure brings back memories. I arrived during Semana Santa in Spain. I can't sleep on a plane, and having arrived at 6:00 a.m. finally got to my new home and into bed by 8:00 a.m. At 8:30 a.m. a little band with tin horns blowing and drums drumming marched by. I was welcomed to town to my shock and astonishment . My bedroom window was 4 feet from the small local street! I discovered they did this every morning during Semana Santa. (Holy Week)

Lol Jar, I know the feeling, I have been many a times in villages during Easter time and unless the hotel was out of the center of town, we usually got the wakeup drums each morning. In Malaga center it is even worse, because there are about 12 thrones paraded each night for 7 nights, and each one has a marching band with them, the last throne is normally put away at 6.00am - I really would hate to live around there during Semana Sanata. Although I am glad the pic brought back some memories for you .

Speaking of daffodils... Here's my folks' cat amongst some in my father's garden in a 1980 Ektachrome slide. She originally belonged to my brother, who named her "Radio Mary Fubash" (hey, it was the 70s!). Shortly after that, prior to an extended period out of the country, he bequeathed her to my folks, and thereafter she was known as "Kitty."

Oh, I love daffs, and do so miss them here! Lovely kitties, both. Dotb, how did you cut that eggshell so perfectly? I've never had luck with that.. can get one good half, (with lots of snipping off) but not both.

white dog to white "monk"
One of the nearly white variations of Monkshood: Aconitum x cammarum 'Eleonora'. Blooms profusely in my yard every summer. Lovely, low maintenance perennial, many uses for Monkshood varieties all over the world - roots of most are toxic though, so wash hands thoroughly after dividing (better yet, wear disposable gloves) and don't plant where livestock can munch on them.

Jakeroo, love the monkshood shot! The glistening really adds a zing to the photo.

From munching bug to bug baring its teeth at me.

Another bug shot, this one a moth I spotted on my garden path. (Sorry it's so small, I took it with my mobile phone's camera. Just think of it being life-size! )
