Sigh. He was such a fine example of how the news can, and should, grab the attention of a country. He gave us the facts, made us need to know them, made us feel connected to one another as we heard them ... and Mr. Cronkite never pandered. He set a benchmark, that's for sure.
But, thank heavens his influence can be seen in a select few reporters still. The key phrase there being "select few", I'm afraid
