Here in Europe the roe deer, red deer, semi-wild fallow deer, foxes, seals, dolphins and lots of birds. Apart from that a lot of rodents, amphibians, shrews etc, but nothing larger than a hare. In the USA there was no escaping the buffalo in Yellowstone NP, and one white-tailed deer that was lucky to survive the encounter since I was driving a car and it was illegally using the paved road. In India two kinds of monkey that were wild only technically, they are so tame that they are a pest. In Chile llamas, alpacas, guanacos, vicuñas, sea lions, sea otters and vizcachas.

Around here we get plenty of kangaroos. Especially if it hasnt rained for a bit, they come into town and eat the greenery. There's always Wedge Tailed Eagles helping themselves to the remains of road kill too. We have foxes and rabbits too but they're feral.

I've seen so many wild animals, although most are local. Deer, elk, moose, bear, fox, and far too many birds and small mammals to identify, lt alone name. I've been to many different zoos.

In the wild I have seen kangaroos and emus by the thousands. I almost ran over a wombat wandering along a road; fortunately I was able to swerve away as they are quite hefty. There are deer that inhabit a National Park near Sydney, too. I have seen a couple of echidnas waddling along, too. When I was a kid I was a member of the Gould League of Bird Lovers so have seen many types of birds. Tawny frogmouths and brolgas are my favourites. When I was in the USA and Canada a few years ago, I saw bison in a paddock- apparently they are now bred like cattle. I was still getting over that sighting, when a deer ran across the road in front of me! I also had a chipmunk run straight past me when I was at Niagara Falls- I thought it was a rat. I even saw some squirrels; cute little fellers.

besides tons of rodents and birds, the only ones that come to mind are buffalo, many varieties of deer, moose, raccoons, skunks, foxes, coyotes, beavers...you know, common stuff in the Midwest and/or Yellowstone NP. Except for the coyotes, which was when I was living in Arizona.

Camels in the outback of South Australia and New South Wales. Kangaroos and Wallaby's. Wombats. Emus. Various snakes and lizards. Deer. Echida. Wild pigs. Foxes and rabbits. Koalas. Dingos. Wedge tailed eagles and black and white cockatoos. Possums. Bats. Various whales, dolphins and sharks.
Sadly I`ve never seen any platypus in the wild or freshwater and salt water crocodiles, but I`m sure I will some day.

Forgot the aquatic creatures - sea turtles, sharks ,dolphins, aligators& crocodiles (in parks/reserves), probable small (near dolphin size) whales, larger whales spouting in the distance. Also galapagos tortoises.

I am not sure whether you mean non-domestic animals in any setting or wild animals in the wild.
Living where I do there is easy access to Durrell so there are number of endangered species I can and do see from time to time. Over the years I have been to a number of zoos and years ago even circuses with animals, I have also visited game parks in Kenya.

Deer, deer, deer - I don't go a week without seeing them. Mulies and whitetails.
Coyotes, foxes, badgers, marten, beavers, muskrats, skunks, raccoons, weasels. All the various little common rodents of our area - gophers, voles, shrews, mice, chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits and hares...
Moose, elk, antelope, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, woodland caribou. A couple dozen black bears over the course of a lifetime. I'm not counting bison because they aren't really "in the wild" around here - they only live in fenced preserves.
Geese and ducks without number, sandhill cranes, pelicans, trumpeter swans, hawks (mostly redtail and peregrine falcons) bald and golden eagles, snowy owls.
Once saw the flukes of some whales, but I don't know enough about them to know what kind they were from just that.
I've seen evidence that grizzly bears were in the neighbourhood, but have never seen one for sure. Also seen cougar tracks, but not the cat. When I was a kid we had a lynx hanging around our place in the country one summer - my mom saw it but I never did. Heard it, though.
Except for the caribou and the big cats, this is all reasonably common in this part of the world. Everybody else my age will have seen about the same.

I grew up spending summers in the mountains so saw plenty of wild animals including bears. They'd come down and remind us that we weren't the dominant animals in the woods.
Here where I live now, I've seen loads of deer and they cause accidents on the roads. We live near a wildlife preserve so there are wild turkey buzzards circling over the house looking for prey. It's occasionally unsettling.
Possums abound here.
the other day I went out with the children I keep and there was a hawk chick. She was about a foot and a half long and scared, so we backed off obviously! That was a surprise.
There have been reports of wildcats coming around for food...but I've never run into one...that's fine by me!
once had a mongoose in the backyard in Hawaii. They got them in there to get the rats out of the sugar cane. I just said to it, 'rikkitikkitavi' and it went away.

I've been lucky enough to see plenty in Africa: black rhinos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, ostriches and giraffes and unlucky enough to be checked out by an angry bull elephant who sniffed me up and down as my then fiancee filmed it on the camcorder! Thankfully he didn't think I was worth the effort.
I've seen golden eagles in the US, nesting peregrine falcons near to my parents home on the Welsh border, howler monkeys in Guatemala and dolphins just off Terife in southern Spain.
My favourite sight was of a mother and baby Humpback whale off the coast of Iceland. That was a genuinely emotional moment to see such majestic creatures.

Just been reminded - was driving down a reasonably busy suburban street in Taunton & saw a bird of prey (peregrine) on the pavement. It looked like it might have had a kill.
One thing I rarely see is birds in my garden. I have tried putting out food - there are a few cats about but not a huge number.

Not counting the zoo animals - Deer, elk, moose, mountain goat, bighorn sheep, bear (had one once get on his hinds legs and check us out in our van - his nails were so long!), badger, many birds, eagles, hawks, alligator, bobcat, coyote, javelina. Probably more but that's all I can think of right now.

I found a black bear up a tree along the Blue Ridge in Virginia at dusk and was videoing it. When you look through the viewfinder, reality becomes false so I didn't even worry when I filmed it climbing down the tree. I was brought back to reality by my wife who was shouting at me to get back in the car as the bear and I were now 10 feet apart. I am 6 foot 4inches and the bear stood about the same. We just stood there and looked at each other. Luckily the bear grunted and turned to walk away. Unfortunately the video camera I had at the time didn't perform well in low light so I didn't capture it. Here is a Grizzly I did manage to film in Alaska Haines Grizzly

Fantastic footage SOTHC.
ClaraSue your post is the first time I`ve ever read that name for those those type of creatures anywhere, I have only ever read the word peccary mentioned once before in an old book, but javelina never. They are certainly a strange looking animal and seeing them in a small pack would be amazing.

OK, lets do this logically: Feral: cats, pigs, deer, foxes, camels, donkeys, cattle, horses, goats, cane toads. Reptiles: seasnakes, dugites, tigersnakes, gwardars, carpet snakes, yondis, bungyarras, noorins Mammals: kangaroos, tammars, wallabies, possums, echidnas, bandicoots, wombats, dolphin, whales Birds: wedgetailed eagles, kites, hawks, kookaburras, owls, robins, wilywagtails, honeyeaters( at least a dozen different types), cockatoos, parrots & galahs, wrens (blue and other varieties), emus, magpies, .. Fish: way too many to count - actually caught rock cod, king george whiting, sand whiting, bream, wobbegong, nannygai & bluebone.. Fresh water: perch, marron, gilgies, long necked turtles.. Saw saltwater crocodiles in the wild while on my honeymoon ten years ago at a place called Minnie Creek in the Kimberley. Apart from the camels, canetoads and wombats, everything I have listed has been in Western Australia. And I'll bet the second I have posted this, I'll think of a heap more ! Oh heavens.. I forgot to list rabbits in the ferals.. the worst pest of all round here.

You all make me feel like such a city girl. Opposums, groundhogs, lizards and snakes are just about the only ones I've seen in the wild. I did see an armadillo and a roadrunner too, as well as scorpions.

Quogequox - I hope to add platypus later this year when we visit our Tasmanian friends, who tell us they have them in the creek that runs through their farm. Can't wait to see them ! (Both the platypus and the friends !)

They were cool, like little submarines on the surface. I saw them in a lake a few kilometres from the little town of Forrest in the Otway ranges Victoria.

Besides all of the animals in the zoo, we have foxes, skunks, coyotes, muscrats, beavers, gophers. We actually have owned squirrel monkeys, spider monkey, raccoon, o'possum, bobcat, porcupine, Macaw, yellow nape Amazon parrot, chuckers, pheasants, button quail and other small birds. My husband loves animals.

I sat on my front verandah this afternoon and watched a family of small hawks catch mice among the hay bales. Quite amazing - they hover, watching their prey, then swoop.
