Ok, here's a strange one (or maybe the strange one is just me)...

I have just gone to check on the status of my non-rated QQ questions (just checking on them to see if they have been put into a round yet) and notice that my very first question I submitted is on the recently accepted submissions list (albeit with an error fixed).

I am assuming that someone finally got my question, realised that a date in it was wrong and has put in a correction for it(?). So why does it then re-appear in my recently accepted (not rated) list (and disappear of my 'rated' list)?

Thanks, BTW, to the person who corrected the mistake for me. It has been bugging me ever since I submitted the question and realised it was incorrect

Us editors now have the facility to edit your Quest questions. Those that have come back for corrections and have not yet had a large number of plays have been put back in the new questions game to get those extra plays and ratings it needs.

Apologies to all Eds and authors in advance(ish) for what I now understand were probably over-zealous corrections I may have sent for QQ questions. In the absence of feedback I've tended to err on the "more is better" in terms of info and detail, and it now seems that kind of 'strictness' might not have been what was actually wanted.

At least from now on I know to ease up a little!

I should, for the sake of clarity, explain that editors are now able to edit questions that have correction notes on them. We've been able to edit the original submissions from the start

Does that mean that those questions that don't need corrections, but have relatively few plays, don't get to go around again?

My first two submissions (which had approx only 50 plays each) were put pack on the "soon to appear in a game" list today. Am fairly certain they didn't need corrections, so maybe Snowman meant both possibilities (those that came back for corrections and/or? have not yet had a large number of plays). One other thing I noticed, is that although one of those two is in a current game, it is still on the "appearing soon" list and not on the "ratings so far" list. Perhaps not enough time has elapsed yet though.

I just looked at my QQ pages for the first time in weeks, and it seems two of my questions have come back with a message about the original interesting info being inadequate. Is there anywhere I can actually see what I put? I can't remember what it said, and to write from scratch risks just putting whatever I put before all over again, which is going to look like I have taken no notice of the editor's message... Also, do we *have* to resubmit them? I notice there's a wee delete thing beside them.

Only Terry can answer that one.

What may have happened to some questions that appear to have no errors is that they received a number of invalid correction notes and were withdrawn from the game pool before they reached the requisite number of plays. Once an editor checks the notes and decides they were invalid, then the question will be re-released into the pool again.

And Rowena, there is no obligation to re-submit the question if you do not wish to.

I would absolutely like to be able see the complete question including II on a reject/removal as well. One of my established questions has just been removed from the pool as "wrong answer" by an editor although I am absolutely sure I wrote the right thing. Unfortunately, I cannot check it again and also only received the stock notice of "answer is wrong".

Thanks Snowman, that explains it then

I am particularly glad that question gets another go. It only had 39 plays (the question was submitted right at the start of QQ) which doesn't really give any accuracy to the rating on it (according to FT text somewhere...)

It would be nice though, to know who it was that made the correction, or noticed it? I was a bit frustrated that it was impossible to change it myself when i realised it was wrong

I have a weird little glitch going on - one of the two questions, I deleted and it vanished obligingly, but the other one is refusing to go! I click delete and the page does the 'blink' thing as though it's refreshing, but the question is still there. I've tried four or five times now, and refreshed the page several times, and it just won't go away...

Without being able to view the whole questions and interesting information, it isn't possible to amend anything, so I'll just delete the 'rejected' ones, when I get around to it.

I have recently stopped smoking again and am at that rather grumpy stage, so apologies if I seem a tad terse.

By the way, I am adding a "resubmit" option to rejected questions.

All questions that get rejected will get one resubmit chance.

So keep around any that you think you can salvage with some changes.

Thanks Terry, does this mean that as opposed to just seeing the question, 'rejected' ones will also have the interesting info included?

I'll try not to be too hasty with the delete button, as my problems appear to be the interesting info, which at the moment I can't view.

You will be able to click a "resubmit" button, where you will see everything in its entirety and have a chance to edit it and resubmit to the editors.

Terry - in the case of a question that was removed from the live stage based on a correction note, could this also show the note text so that we know exactly what was wrong?

Well, those notes go to the editors who either fix the question or reject it outright. Yes, if it is rejected outright then the author sees the reason.

Yes, I have the same problem as Wesley. I have a certain question that has been in rotation a total of 3 times. I have no idea what corrections were made to the question. I just hope that people don't get sick of seeing it, lol!

My other question that was re-submitted had some additional information attached to it to make it clearer. That was great. However, it still contains a typo. It will be in rotation twice with the same spelling error.

What I'm trying to say is that in the future it would be nice for the question authors to see what error they made, and perhaps have the ablity to correct it themselves before it goes back into the pool again. Thanks!

Is the non-disappearance of questions I attempt to delete anything to do with the imminent resubmit option? I have another one doing (or not doing lol) it now. They just sit there.... :S

Thanks Terry for trying to salvage all those earlier questions! Putting in the resubmit button is a terrific help. Now that some of our early questions are being resubmitted and rerated is there any chance we could view our rated questions beyond the last 50? It would be great to know how my resubmitted questions are faring.

Um... it's been four days now, and those two questions still won't delete... It's more odd because the other one of the three deleted immediately I clicked the 'delete' link - that one was first. The other two are just stuck there in limbo.

I found one of my questions that has yet to be put into the New Question Game pop up on one of the multi-author new quizzes. While honored, I would have thought the questions would go through the New Question Game before being released into this other format.

Oops, I'll change that. No big deal, but the stats are certainly more accurate if no one has seen them before.
