I wrote one on martial arts and knitting - that's almost sports!

Competitive knitting, I like it!

Believe it or not, I can sure picture Sue, Denni, and Ren in the scooters. Somewhat of an open shopping mall bump cars convention, people screaming and running everywhere, and Sue hot on their tails while hunching down to avoid the wind resistance!

So can I, which is why I didn't comment earlier - I was just letting the comedy play out in my mind!

That only works if they're red, doesn't it? Please don't tell me otherwise, I was so sure with that knowledge and "gravity is a harsh mistress" I knew as much about Physics as I was ever likely to need...

Worst I have had is a Wii remote hurled at the TV by my 7-yr-old. He now knows why mum and dad keep telling him to wear the wrist strap

Yeah, I learnt that lesson the hard way too...I've always thought I had a lot in common with 7-year-olds...

And Paul, knitting is always competitive, don't let anyone's sweet old granny tell you otherwise. Crafting is a vicious, vicious world!

So, I'm curious Nightmare, has this thread increased the amount of quizzes in the Sports queue? Just wondering if it worked.

It has worked for now as I see some new ones under construction from authors who have not delved into Sports in the past. The point was to get "non-sports authors" to attempt to try a new category that they're somewhat not familiar with. Most authors new to an out-of-box category realized that it wasn't that hard when they and an editor had a good relationship of understanding, then submitted more in that category. I could share many authors who experienced this in Sports, but won't share usernames in honor of their privacy. The bottom line in Sports is that even if you're unsure about sports, or feel that you don't have a shot at it, then why not give it that shot? You might be proud! The editors in Sports will be more than willing to help you shine! Just trying to help.

You shouldn't forget about the cycling category.

That's good that the submissions are up, because I haven't seen many sports quizzes put online recently.
