Yeah, it's too bad that Chord left "Glee". All because he was kept as a guest star (even thought he would probably have been bumped up to regular status during the mid-season) and apparently he didn't like that. But that's how they usually do things. I mean, it took Harry Shum Jr. two seasons to become a series regular. I wish he had stayed but oh well. Hope he does well with whatever he attempts, but "Glee" was such a great opportunity career-wise, and I think he should have taken more advantage of it.

Apparently, even though Lauren left New Directions, she will still be around and that's good with me. I like her.

Haha, I loved Rachel and Blaine's "Don't You Want Me" duet as well grin

Can't wait for next week's episode! Shelby is coming back, yay!! Idina Menzel is awesome so I'm so happy she's back. I'm really looking forward to her story with Rachel and also with Beth, Quinn and Puck.

So did anyone watch "Glee" last night? What did you think? I loved it! It was great and I kept thinking about what Ryan Murphy and Co. have been saying these past few months, that they were "going back to basics". So far we've been getting a lot of continuity, good pace and great storylines!

The musical numbers were all amazing, in my opinion. I'm so glad we got to see Mike's first solo, and he was so good! I loved Mercedes' dream-like sequence from "Dreamgirls" and Brittany's dance flashmob was awesome. I also loved Rachel and Mercedes' diva-off. I thought they were both great but to me, Rachel is a better fit for West Side Story's Maria. Mercedes is being pretty immature about the whole thing.

What about Will and Emma's relationship? I feel so bad for Emma and her OCD. Will is being really sweet, trying to help her with her disorder. The final number was beautiful.

Now we have to wait 3 weeks until "Glee" comes back on... I hate hiatus! It sounds like episodes 4 and 5 are going to be great, I cannot wait smile

I thought the "Dreamgirls" sequence was one of the best numbers they've done on the show. Extremely well done.

Also, Brittany got highlighted again, so that was pretty good. Anytime there is more Heather Morris, I'm happy. :P

Was disappointed that Vanessa Lengies isn't being used more though, always liked her too. Too bad about the hiatus...I have no interest in the baseball postseason this year.

Not being of the "demographic"(and how sad it is that at 48 I am dustbinned), I find Glee smartly written and well acted. The show is entertaining as well. What more to ask for. I even was able to enjoy it with my kids without them thinking it must suck if the old man likes it.

Pyonir, I know what you mean about Vanessa Lengies. I'm sure she'll appear more after the hiatus. She was great in "American Dreams" (what a great show that was! I was sad when it got cancelled).

Kevro, that's great that you watch the show with your kids! And welcome to the Glee thread, hehe smile

The rating for the show has dropped drastically from week to week. S3E01 was watched by 9+ million viewers, and the third episode was down to 8+ millions.

What's with all that "West Side Stories" musical thingy? Hm, I really hope they will finish off with that thing, because I am not so familiar with that musical. I prefer they cover more popular songs, such as songs by Madonna, Lady Gaga or MJ. It has more universal appeal, IMO.

Oh no, 3 weeks hiatus? I am dying to see Damien in "Pot of Gold", lol. And ah, nice to see Santana is back in Glee Club. smile

Lol, maybe it has something to do with an important storyline for season 3? wink Personally, I'm really enjoying this particular storyline and I hope they show the actual play in a future episode. Since Santana got the part of Anita, I'm hoping they'll perform "America". Naya would do great with that song! And I think Rachel and Blaine make a very good Maria and Tony. I love musicals so I really enjoy it when they sing show tunes.

And I don't think there's anything to worry about rating-wise so far. Yes, last week's episode got almost 1 million fewer viewers, but 8+ is still a pretty strong number.

I am not sure your being unfamilar with West Side Story makes it any less universal. Aside from winning ten Oscars (including Best Picture), the songs have been covered from artists like Aretha, Tom Waits,Barbra Streisand, Pet Shop Boys and Jennifer Hudson. I love that Glee is including more show tunes. From my experience, they can appeal to everyone from my toddler, to my sister in her 20s to me, to my mother, to my grandpa. You don't get much more universal than that, and I can not say the same about the music of Madonna or Lady Gaga, which while great, is certainly not the be all end all of "popular" music.

Try giving West Side Story a chance -- it may just become a favorite of yours as it is for so many others.

I think Glee is heading back to its roots this season after going off the tracks with so many unrelated storylines. I, for one, am thrilled!

Personally, I dislike showtunes and musicals. If they continue down this path, I will be less enthused about watching the show. I won't say I'll stop watching, but probably will turn the channel during musical numbers if that's the case.

Wait, didn't you say that you thought that the Dreamgirls sequence was the best they had ever done? I dislike a lot of the newer music they do, but I am always interested to see what new version they can bring. I despise Britney Spears, but I thought some of the numbers were outstanding.

Yep, sure did. Doesn't mean I enjoy musicals or show tunes. Only reason I knew it was from Dreamgirls was because I'd see the movie. If I hadn't and you'd told me it was a pop song, I would have believed you.

The same can't be said for most of the other songs from musicals they perform. I'm not sure the best way to describe them, maybe "broadway-like"? Where they are running all over the stage and happy-go-lucky. I don't put Dreamgirls into that same category.

So, Chord Overstreet is going back to "Glee"! I'm glad he'll be back, he was a good addition to the show and I thought it was a pity he had decided to leave.

Here is the article, if anyone is interested in reading it.

I'm so looking forward to the new episodes! This hiatus seems to be so much longer than just three weeks crazy

"Glee" came back last night! Did anyone watch it? smile

I thought Damian (Rory Flanagan) did a great job, I liked his songs, especially the last one. He seems to be a very nice kid. I have a feeling that if he continues to do well, he'll stay beyond the seven episodes he won in "The Glee Project".

Mercedes, Santana and Brittany doing "Candy Man" was really good, but I don't like the fact that they left New Directions! I hope they become one group again soon.

Sue and her one-liners were on fire last night! Burt running against her should be entertaining grin

And Quinn needs professional help. Really. Her behavior keeps getting worse as the episodes go by. If she wants to be a part of Beth's life, making Shelby look like a bad mother isn't the way to do it.

Next week's episode should be awesome. Cannot wait to see their school production of "West Side Story"!

I agree that The Trouble Tones' "Candy Man" was really, really good. smile The trio is so cute together, haha.

Burt versus Sue. I like Burt. Sue, watch out.

I also don't like Quinn's story line. I prefer to see more romantic stories. Ah, speaking of this, I think I read it somewhere that Beiste will get herself a boyfriend. Now that would be fun and entertaining to watch. smile

I have a really hard trying to understand and 'digest' what Damien (Rory) says, haha.

Haha grin Yeah, I've had to stop and go back a couple of times whenever he was talking during the last episode. He's a cutie.

I really like Damien, and I think he is cute as a button. That said, I thought his songs were among the weakest, and I thought Being Green was actually pretty bad. I am SO psyched for West Side Story this week. I heard a few of the songs, and Lea, Darren and Naya sound incredible.

Here, here! Totally agree with you, bubblesfun smile They do sound amazing. "America" is fantastic, I cannot wait to watch that number! And "A Boy Like That", wow. Lea and Naya knocked it out of the park.

Loved every second of it. Just a perfect episode for me. Show tunes, Billy Joel, pro-gay support? Winner! And although I love Lea, I think she sometimes imitates the big ones (like Barbra) rather than making songs her own. Her West Side story numbers were freaking incredible. What a voice. Those notes were crystal perfection.

Yes, this was my favorite episode of the season so far smile It was just perfect and I know I'll watch it over and over again (although, to be fair, I do that with every episode of Glee, but this one was especially good).

I loved how they incorporated the songs into the different storylines, it was so well done. The editing was perfect in this episode. The Warblers' number was fun to watch and a good way to introduce the Sebastian character. Uh, he's trouble, alright. But it looks like everything is going smoothly for Kurt and Blaine and that's just great. I think they're such an awesome couple. All the West Side Story songs were wonderful. Lea, Naya and Darren have such beautiful voices. And I absolutely loved "America". It was just amazing. I also thought Bieste and Mike's storylines were great. Mike's scene with his dad in the hallway broke my heart. And I'm glad Bieste is getting a plot line this season too. Also enjoyed Artie in this episode. He seemed to have everything under control but then freaked out a little only to have everyone give him a a bouquet of lovely flowers for the great job he did with the play. That was cute.

The episode was so hyped up over the sexual aspect of it, but I thought they handled it very well. Those scenes were tastefully done and they were also very sweet.

I give "The First Time" an A+. Klaine + Finchel + West Side Story = perfection.

You know, pyonir, when I first watched the episode, I enjoyed "Uptown Girl", but now after having watched the episode a few times blush I've come to enjoy it even more. It really is a great number. The dance steps are really cool and well done and the Warblers know how to harmonize (even with the auto-tune). And that Sebastian guy... he's terrible, but he's also very easy on the eyes wink There are so many good-looking guys on Glee: Darren Criss, Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, Harry Shum Jr, Chris Colfer is also a sweetie... yeah okay, rant over, sorry grin

Ah!!! That's why that song has been stuck in my head! I hate "Uptown Girl" and couldn't figure out why/how it was stuck in my head. Phew - I'm not going insane.
