A video about a newly discovered species of rat in Papua New Guinea. It will take a brave kitty to chase away one of these. Aren't they cute?

He IS cute! My kids had pet rats, for years.
I love how completely unconcerned he is!
The legs seem to have thick fur all the way to the feet. Great clip!

I think it's actually quite ugly, but it's so docile that it's kind of sweet. I suppose I could see how it could grow on you. If I were to discover one, the way that they did, I would have thought it was pretty cool. If, however, I discovered it creeping around in my basement... I probably would have thought it was just rabid or crazy or something and called the exterminator post-haste! (Poor thing.)

That is awesome. He's quite cute. I love how he just sits there and does his thing while they're touching him and looking at him. The light didn't bother him either. I wonder if his temperment is natural, or if it's just because he's had no exposure to humans so he doen't feel threatened. Hmmm...
