Apparently he is kicking his legs and cooing, and responding to the anti-biotics.

The best bit is the cooing.

Huge kudos to his mum for believing her eyes and not the doctors: and for not giving up.

(Hoping there isn't a limit on smilies! )
He's HOME safe and sound! The doctors will come and put the drugs into him for five days, but, although me and Mum haven't seen him, he's absolutely fine! His daddy will have to go back to Afghanistan in the next couple of days, but he is "only" there until early November. I know November is a long way away in the place he is, but it will soon pass
Me and my family really appreciate all the support - hugs to all

I'm so happy for you, and your family, Jane! How wonderful! Doctors make 'house calls' ...that's really nice.

It's great to hear that Elliot has pulled through. Here's looking forward to the day when his Dad can be with him again.

We are already halfway through September, so it'll be no time at all before your family will be saying "Already?" Trust me, it will go quickly!

Sorry I haven't updated you all for a few days!
His Daddy went to the airport this morning, so should be flying back as we speak. Aparently the meningitis was started from a stomach bug or something. William goes to nursery three times a week, so it is possible that it started from there.
So he is free to go out into the big wide world again - although we'll have to keep a eye on him for the next few weeks/months, as he will be vunable to pick up anything. He only has the drip in his chest at the moment, and seeming the doctor's don't need to come and give him the drugs any more, that will be removed soon.
All in all, he's doing just fine. We'll probably look back over this worrying time in years to come and shake our heads

That is a relief, and a very quick recovery. Everything they did clearly worked.

He's still doing well! He's going to have a operation to remove the chest drain today, a quick procedure, and then he should be a lot more comfortable hopefully!
