In an effort to follow Sue's request I thought I'd start a new thread. Maybe it's a bit broad, but everyone has things that are put off to the weekend, right? Anyone doing anything interesting?

Yesterday my son attended a birthday party in the neighborhood and being new here both my hubby and I attended. We met a wonderfully interesting man (another parent) who's been living here for the last twenty years though he's originally from New Zealand. What a colorful life he's led, starting as a television producer when he was Down Under, and now he's an artist doing commission work for the Pentagon and surrounding military communities as well as a founder for an environmental organization. Extremely fascinating to talk with him, we look forward to spending more time with his family and to meeting more folks here.

Today we might attend a community end of season carnival, which is another way to get out and meet new people.

This weekend was actually rather unusual for me. Instead of my usual saturday: archery and then going to BF's house, and sunday: sleep and then work, on saturday I worked for 7 hours - 11 til 6 - and then came home and went to an 18th birthday party of a friend. Good fun was had by all there, with no alcohol anywhere to be seen. We went out for dinner and then went back to his house to play computer games.
Sunday was pretty average. I slept until 12 and then went to work. Came home from work and did homework for the rest of the night.

My weekend was not very interesting, I'm afraid. My main plan was trying to stop feeling miserable. My boyfriend flew back to Australia on Wednesday and I haven't felt very well since then, to put it mildly. So I've gone to stay with my parents for the weekend to have some company and hopefully some distraction from being on my own again.

Ah, the weekend finally! I've done nothing this weekend except recuperate from Thursday & Friday (425 mile quilt shop hop). And of course, visit Fun Trivia. The ironing waits, the laundry waits. Yet, as I think of it I've been puttering around the house, mainly working on the computer. I've *started* balancing my August checkbook, and I've *started* working on locating a case of wine for a seminar. Not much of a weekend, really.

Awww Leau, I understand what you're going through. My boyfriend lives in the US and it's always very hard when we say goodbye at the airport. Being with your family is a good idea, the company is always good. Hope you're feeling better!

One of my cousins who lives in Mendoza (a province here in Argentina) came over to visit my parents and I for a week. So yesterday we went out, had lunch at a shopping mall and then went to a crafts fair and made a day out of it. It was very nice. Today I'm doing laundry and just resting

I went to Bleinheim Horse Trials (don't worry, none were guilty! ) and bought (among other things) a shirt reading: Wanted: Dangerously handsome guy, must like horses and be *extremely rich*, reply to above.

Best of all, the salesman said I could bring it back if it didn't work!

A reasonably standard weekend. Went to a craft shop with Mum to get some seed beads yesterday (Saturday) and my sis and William bobbed in and out to see us. Today, me and Mum were up early, as we got new wardrobes and bookcase fitted in my room, and the afternoon was spent rearranging the room

Apart from going out for a meal on Sunday the weekend was very quiet, just some tv and messing about on the computer.

On Friday I attended a barbecue at my friend's apartement. It was on the roof and we had a great time. I drank too much brandy, so I wasn't quite well on Saturday. Saturday evening I went dancing in a dancing club and had great fun, but again drank too much and had a hangover on Sunday. Sunday evening I had a nice dinner with a handsome boy
Normally, I don't drink much, but last weekend I drank 2 days in a row too much, so now I'm going into detox and I'm going to stay away from the alcohol for a while.

This weekend I will leave for a weeklong vacation in Thailand! Everything will shut down here next week for Eid so we are off. The kids are very excited and can't wait to see an elephant.

I am on my way to visit my parents in Colorado at their summer home for the weekend! Mom doesn't know it, but I splurged on a couple of bottles of very good wine that I'm going to surprise her with. It's been over a year since we were there last, and they have been remodeling the house. I can't wait!

I think I remember your last visit to your mother Lisa, has it already been a year? How time flies! Hope you enjoy your time together!

This weekend we are planning on picking up a brand new truck; it'll be the first vehicle we've ever splurged on but we couldn't turn down the fantastic deal we're getting. We also hope to have a family date on Sunday, if it's sunny we'll go canoeing (sp?), but if it's raining we hope to go to the Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Center and see the first Space Shuttle.

This weekend it's my boyfriend's birthday! I'm spending all day at his house on saturday (5 hours of that in company of mutual friends) and then we're going out for dinner with his parents.

Then on Sunday I have an archery competition.

As we are leaving on Wed (23rd) for our trip to France, we will be celebrating my daughters birthday on Sunday with a family roast lunch. It is a surprise for her. Her birthday is on the 29th and we wont be here.
I will spend Saturday getting things ready and watching the Australia vs New Zealand game.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Have a wonderful time in France Lady. I spent almost three weeks there this summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will you be posting on trivia while away?

My church is supposed to have a lakeside worship service and picnic Sunday evening. Hope it doesn't rain!

Don't think I will be posting while I am away but will catch up when we get back.

I have more to do this weekend... Just got a new digital camera for the trip so will have to make sure I know how it works. Look out for the photos next month on the photo chains.

Well, this weekend is over. I had a great day on Saturday with my boyfriend. We spent about 6 hours at his place and then went out to tea, then came home and spent another 2 hours together. Today I had my archery competition, and though we (a team) missed out on first place by about 40 points, we still came 2nd out of 6. A result I'm very happy with.
