I must say, Matthew that I did not enjoy The Davinci thing at all. I found it bitty, messy, and highly predictible ( I had solved all the code things by the end of the page). But if you can tell me that this one will hold my interest further than two chapters, and why, then I will give it a go!

As much as I`ve denigrated Dan Brown`s books in the past I must admit that I will probably be purchasing his latest one.I guess I have too much time on my hands, I do find his books easy to tear through though.

I read The Da Vinci Code only because we were stranded at my mother-in-law's during Hurricane Katrina and they had the book in the house. The beginning was certainly interesting, but the plot twists were too many and too fast to sustain credibility. And as said above, Quote:
But the climax was not very satisfactory and a bit dragged!
I couldn't even understand what happened at the end, until I realized--nothing!
The only thing that could make me read another Dan Brown book would be another disaster.

One thing you do have to say about "The Da Vinci Code", whether you liked the book or not, is that it did contain a lot of interesting trivia!

The last few chapters spoilt the entire book.

I read it. It was ok, though not as good as "The Da Vinci Code" or "Angels and Demons". "Angels and Demons" was my favoritwe of the 3. His other books without Robert Langdon are pretty awesome too. Better than "The LOst Symbol".

I read it, and promptly wrote a quiz about the book. I think my contempt for the book is evident in the way I wrote the quiz. If you'll note in the footnote to the quiz that I refrained from recommending the book explicitly. Dan Brown went downhill from Angers and Demons. The rest of his books were simply not worth the time. I agree with everything that's been said, and I think that the 'conspiracy theory' motif has been overused by Mr. Brown.

Dan Brown failed to properly conclude the book by 'connecting the dots'. The kingdom of heaven is achieved by mankind when all the brains in the skulls (represented by the circumpunct) have connected into one.
Our science already has the analogy...the Cray Computer...actually several powerful computers linked by the operating system.
We are attempting, using our technolgy, to connect the dots...by television, telephones/cell phones, the internet, verbally, etc etc...

I think that the 'conspiracy theory' motif has been overused by Mr. Brown. I would add that maybe any sort of writing implemnent has been overused by Mr Brown. I read two and found them so pathetic that I could not bring myself to read any more.
