I posted about a year ago this black goat who we've had has a pet since she was a couple days old. SHe, Hindu, comes and goes as she pleases .. she'll hang around a few months then she'll go away for months too. She went away for about three years once. Well, she came back again yesterday Funny old thing. The big white Nanny had been with her last time she was home and is getting nice and quiet. Today she ate some gum leaves out of my hand. The kid is about four months old which is when Hindu left last time (when she had the kids). She had twins but we don't know what happened to the other one. She is settling in again quite nicely thank you very much.

I came across this notice. Not unusual in itself but the location is a bit strange. It is right in the middle of some woods where there is no trace of a footpath. The only reason we (brother and I) were there was because we'd got a bit lost while out riding and were pushing our bikes through the wilderness. I don't know if there is actually a live electric cable. There's nothing around for miles. The notice looks to be decades old.

Anyway, I think the only reason anyone would want to dig there is if they were burying swag ..or worse!

One thing I can't stand is getting into a boat that's as wet inside as the water outside... so I didn't get in.

Plantain flower.



Each yellow floweret at the top of the main flower will develop into a fruit. The two outer purple flower petals will then drop off to reveal another set of flowerets and another purple flower, and so on, continuing downwards until the hand of fruit is complete. Plantain and bananas are distinguishible from each other only by their leaves when young. Photo taken this week in my garden.

I'm enjoying your shots of Departure Bay, mcshellsie. If that's the ferry that runs from Vancouver to Nanaimo then I've been on it. My brother lives in Nanaimo, and I have family and friends elsewhere on the Island, as well as Gabriola Island.

thanks mm ... thats cool you having relatives here. yes, those were the ferry to Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) a 30 mile, 2 hr. trip across the Strait of Georgia. The BC Ferry fleet is large, i think there are three different ferries doing just this route, one a new superferry recently built for them in Germany.

Saturday is farmers' market day.

I like to buy my produce from the grower; everything shown here is local, including the raspberry loaf from the Swiss lady.

Those vegetables look so fresh and yummy, MadMags! And those strawberries! Oh, and I bet that raspberry loaf is delicious. I'm hungry now Great picture!

Outside London (only just) they can hide the housing estates behind large gardens, at least they've proved it is possible but very much the exception anywhere in the country. This is in Thames Ditton, which is in Surrey though so more likely.

Sat, I like the way the colour of the brick is repeated on the grass. A nice autumnal shot.
