Got together today with my sister and some friends to scrapbook and natter. We do this every other week during the winter. I spent my time putting together the cards from the kit my sister gave me as a present for watering their plants while she and her hubby are away She knows how much I love these kits!

You've got some great kit there, Liz ... BG papers again if I'm not mistaken (I love BG...). Your cards are fab!

I just finished making this one today. It is an A4 card so rather large.

Edited to say the card is really black not sort of mucky colour - and Sara, no, this is not your birthday card, it is nothing like the card that I have made for you!

Further edited for the sake of people who don't understand how I made it. The white started off life as a piece of A4 parchment paper, I then traced the pattern with a pencil then using various tools I embossed the design then pricked the paper along all the lines and then cut by putting the points of special scissors into two holes then snip. I started this card on 20th and finished it today but was away for part of the time so it took about four or five days sometimes working for about twelve hours with some breaks. It has been known for me to spend more than a week on one card.

I think the one that I sent you is far far better and hope that you will think so too.

What a lovely card Sue. Thanks for telling us it is black because the colour appears pea soup green. - Yuk!

Unfortunately I can not take credit to this creation!
I help out on another website and a member of the website from Canada sent me - and various other friends a "Christmas Bauble" which arrived the other day. I think it is too good "just for Christmas", it will displayed all year.

Your parchment is amazing (as usual) Sue!

And Jane, I agree, that bauble is too yummy to display at Christmastime only! Lucky you!

The worse bit about making it was trying to make sure that I stuck it on straight.

This one did take more than a week to make, I didn't take note of the number of hours but it was a lot.

If this wasn't enough, I then made the same design but reduced the size to A5 instead of A4 - I was on a roll. The person who received it was pleased with it.

I am always blown away by the amount of work and detail that goes into your parchment, Sue, and that clock is just stunning!

I attended my first ever crop a couple of weeks ago. The project for the day was a mini album, and I was totally captivated by it. I really liked the choice of papers that the girls had gone for. Luckily I had a series of photos which were suitable for the album, so I've been working on that this last two weeks.

The title 'La Soupe aux Cailloux' (Rock soup) is the title of a kids fable here, where a sneaky beggar man entices a selfish housewife to give him lots of vegetables 'to improve' his already-delicious soup (a rock in boiling water). My kids have always loved the story, and the set of photos of my kids making garden soup out of rotten fruit, leaves, pine cones, grass, muddy water and ... rocks ...just screamed 'rock soup' to me:

The interior of the album can be seen here on my blog

That looks great Toni.

I haven't done any more parchment for a few weeks, I have been making some normal cards for a change.

Here is the card that I made for my daughter and her husband to welcome the new baby.

My card to Mum!
The large peel-off "Flutterby" was stuck onto vellum, then painstakingly coloured in with gel pens before going on blobbers.

This is a card which I am posting off to someone in the US today, I hope that it survives the postal systems. It is A4 in size, and yes, those are real feathers.

It is Mother's Day in England today, so here is my Mother's Day card, which, of course, she loved! Peel offs, domed stickers and a old card, recycled.

Bet she was dead chuffed, Jane!

I've not made much recently (been busy making heaps of paper flowers for a little game/competition I've organised on another forum), however as it's up to me to propose a sketch or scraplift on Monday next I had to get busy. This is the page I made last night:

Not really very crafty myself but stumbled across the Martha Stewart show on free to air TV today (usually working) She had on an amazing man making moving Valentines cards and showing some fabulous ones from the 19th century. Apparently you can download for free the taskcards for these. Has anyone on here made anything available from her site? Looked like a pretty good show to me from just one viewing. Any USA people on here who can tell me if following this show is worth it?
