Love the decoration Jane! Lovely work everyone.

I've been making last minute Christmas cards to give family members tomorrow.

I have absolutely no talent at scrapbooking, so am in awe of everyone's work here!

I DO love paper though. Sometimes the paper is so pretty I never do ANYthing with it other than take it out and look at it once awhile and think "oooo, I'm going to save THAT for something really special". I have no idea exactly WHAT though and I suspect that after I die, SOMEone will be swearing at the amount of flammable material they will have to throw out lol.

Anyway, sometimes I manage to make use of "non-pretty" paper, and that is to turn it into something else, such as this papier mache carousel horse I made about 6 years ago. Santa rides him at Christmas. A Gargoyle is the jockey for the rest of the year, minus the poinsettias/decorations.

(as for scale, the glass railing behind him is 4 ft x 4 ft)

wow, that's fantastic, Jakeroo!

Love your work Liz and Toni too. smile
I made a pack of cards yesterday - I'll take a pic today. Got a few weeks of hot weather coming up so I hope to spend a bit of time crafting.

Here's the card set I made for my friend who is having a birthday tomorrow just so she has a stash of cards through the year.
I cased the card and made the box myself. As much as I love scrapbooking and card making I do like constructing things too.

Jakeroo, your horse is amazing! Great cards, Copago, and super idea for a gift (which I might steal smile )

Love your cards, as always, Jill, but Jakeroo that horse is simply stunning!!! I absolutely love it, as does my horse-mad teenager!

Making boxed sets of cards for other people to use is a FABulous idea (and very generous of you all, I might add). You folks should really think about teaching classes!

Hmmm... as did my 4 year old niece who decided to ride the "pretty pony" lol. I confess I'm a dreamer, not an engineer. In the beginning there was just a broomstick handle running up through the center (and of course, I didn't think of the impracticalities of building a horse where only one hoof was actually touching "ground" lol). I'd never tackled any project that big before, but after that episode I quickly learned about wiring a proper structure. Hubby saved the day by going out and buying a huge metal bracket and bolting it to the wood base. And then the repairs began lol.

Anyhoo, here's more "paper crap" (as my husband calls it). This whole thing started when I decided to make a dragon, which unfortunately ended up looking like a roast turkey. So I added four legs and turned it into a camel, which in turn prompted the rest of the characters below:

(disclaimer: I did not make the little ceramic lamb on the bottom left. It was a gift, but it's the right size for the rest of them)

Beautiful cards, Copago. A brilliant idea for gifts.

Jakeroo, your carousel horse is stunning but I think being able to transform a dragon into a camel is sheer wizardry.

Thanks folks, you are all most kind.

Tobeyone: noooooooo, not wizardry by any stretch. More like sheer stubbornness lol

Two of my friends were expecting their babies for the same day. One was born on Sunday last, the second on Tuesday, a boy and a girl.

Here's one of the cards I made (the boy version is here):

And the boy's version is here

A little page which was lots of fun to make: I used lots of embossing folders, heat embossing, lots of ink techniques, and all the flowers are handmade:

That wasn't too bad, now this little card was much trickier as it is easy to make mistakes.

Here is a decoupaged card that I finished last night, yes that is a pearl necklace but not 'real' ones, just cheap one which was hanging about with some bits and pieces, I think it could even have been from a Christmas cracker! The card is a large one.
