I recently got an idea for a common bond sort of quiz in which the first nine questions would ask the player to name nine separate movies, and the last question would ask for the name of the movie linked through each of the previous nine answers. The link would be that each member of the cast in the final answer appeared in one of the movies referenced in the first nine questions. However, it is not clear from the guidelines which category this quiz belongs in.

Any guidance would be much appreciated...

(Edited for clarity (hopefully).)

That would go in Movies, the Movie Bonds and Acrostics subcategory.

I am thinking about writing a quiz based on the UK television programme, "Most Annoying People 2009", but am really uncertain as to which category I should put it in. Celebrities doesn't really seem to fit, and the only other possibility I could think of was People's "Who Am I?" subcategory. Is this the correct category/subcategory for this type of quiz?
Kind regards

It depends who the people are. If they are from the entertainment world (I don't know why annoying people makes me think they would be, but it does) then Celebrities might be the place. If it's more of a mixture then People would be best.

If you want to send me a PM then I can advise you better.

Thanks for the quick response, Snowman. Most of the individuals on this list are from the world of entertainment, although there are a few politicians, businessmen, and chefs scattered amongst them. Sixteen of the fifty listed are not from the world of entertainment, so I guess People would be the appropriate category after all.

Thanks again for your help,

You could do a quiz of 15 people who aren't entertainment and put them in the appropriate category (Celebrities or People) and the rest be in quizzes for Entertainment.

This is a new "Where does it go?" question.

I've started a quiz on famous dates, ranging through 5000 years, and can't find where to put it. The Famous Dates sub-category wants them by quarters of the calendar!! ??? Jan.-Mar., April-June, etc. That doesn't apply at all to my quiz. (And, frankly, I wouldn't think it would to many. Who writes quizzes of things that happened only in one month? Maybe for April Fool's Day.)

The only other possibility would be World History, Historical Firsts, but if I can't put it under Famous Dates I won't submit it. (Not being petulant here, but "date" is in the title and it really couldn't go anywhere else. What I mean is, I'll save myself the trouble of finishing it.)

Hmmm. I just created a template, and it's letting me do what I wanted to. Yay! So, is this going to work, then?

Thanks in advance for an editor's answer.

The subcategories divided by quarters are meant for Famous Dates quizzes that do deal specific dates or months, e.g. January 1st Through the Years, or Things that Happened in September, or similar quizzes. There are other, more broad quizzes just in the main Famous Dates folder (i.e., not further subcategorized), which is probably what you're looking for.

Yes, the 'top level' of Famous Dates is the right place.

One of the questions I wish to submit for the QQ, is technically on a video game. As there is no video game category, would it be possible to submit it to Hobbies instead? It is a puzzle game, which is extremely well known. I thought I had better check here before I submit it though.

Hmmm I had thought that Video Games was a section of Entertainment, but it looks like it has its own category on the main page. I guess it got too big to be a sub-category, or I'm just remembering incorrectly.

Entertainment would be a good bet, I think, but if not you can always submit it to General. There are a few categories, I think, that are not represented in the QQ.

I look at VG in the Entertainment category, but please make sure not to make them too obscure. I'd be glad to accept tons, but we're only allowed a scratching of the surface, so to speak.

I could swallow Entertainment whole at this point!

Yay, thanks for that kyle and LadyCaitriona. In that case, I may have two questions to offer.

I managed to get in a VG question by wording it such that it fit into geography. It's amazing what you can do with a question when you have a good think about it...

I accepted my first VG question in People the other day. I'm not sure there are many software designers who are well enough known to hit the 55-95% target accuracy though.

It's me again. lol. Just want to clear up a bit of confusion to do with my new quiz. It is a who am I? quiz, which involves celebrities. Most of them are actresses, but two of them are known mainly for being singers, although they do a bit of acting too. Celebrities or People or Entertainment? I'm rather confused.

It doesn't sound like a People quiz to me. People will accept quizzes on a mix of people that include a small number of celebrities but not as many as you suggest your quiz has. The balance needs to be towards non-celebs.

I will leave it to a Celebrities editor to answer as to whether they think it is suitable or not.
