Who are your favourite/best looking movie stars? I've recently developed an...attraction...to James Franco, of Tristan and Isolde fame. Along with that, there's Orlando Bloom, that guy from Stardust, and probably a couple of others that I can't remember right now. So who are your celebrity crushes?

Stop me before I palpitate. Which leads me to add my faves: Marlon Brando, David Niven, Shirley Booth, Hepburn (I'm so happy to repeat her!), Anna Magnani (who defined "hot" --- just a bit before Sophia Loren sealed the deal), William Holden, Grace Kelly, Karl Malden. Oh, yeah. It was the 'faces' back then that captured everything just right. Not always perfect faces, either. But powerful ones, indeed. These days? I'm thinking Sandra Bullock and George Clooney (aside from being so stinkin' adorable you can hardly stand it) are pretty capable stars, and good actors too. Big fans of both -- they do what good actors always have: make even a pretty marginal film watchable and worth talking about. Maggie Gyllenhaal is awesome. Michelle Pfeiffer and Jessica Lange still matter. The new crop of guys? Nobody tops Daniel Day-Lewis in my book. But I still think Steve Buscemi is one of the finest (overlooked) actors at work at the moment .
