I can't speak for anyone else, but as a theatre-type, having odd talents is helpful. You never know when you might need to burp on command! (I actually have that on my theatre resume as a Special Talent). I can also bark like Dino (from the Flintstones). I cannot whistle at all, and I have a rather limp finger snap, so the burp-on-command gets top billing.

For some reason, seeing a woman belch gets more giggles than a man doing the same thing (especially when she lets rip with a window-rattling belch and then very daintily says, "excuse me!").

It is so gratifying to know what a talented bunch the FT members are, isn't it?

I thought most people could roll their eyes, independently of each other. I'll ask the wife to do a video and then try to find out how to post it. I haven't tried this for a decade or two....it's easier if you are young.

I'm going to have to hold off on the demo for awhile. I had cataract surgery last week and have to give the eye a rest for a couple of weeks. Yeah, I know, "he's bailing out because he can't really do this." But, I swear I could do it twenty years ago so should be able to do it again.

Hooray! Someone else that can freak people out with the single eye roll. My daughter used to think it was so weird that she asked me not to do it again.
It does take concentration; just cross your eyes slightly to put everything out of focus and move just one eye.
