Love the 'No Swimming' advice, Liz. I assume there's a sign on the bridge to tell people not to jump off the bridge as well?

The wintery weather has also hit the South West of England too. Nowhere near as bad as a lot of other places but enough to disrupt the whole city (not that takes much!) As least I got a 'snow day' out of it.

We've been told every picture I take will look roughly like this for about another week. If so I won't be going very far. This was after 15 solid hours of snowfall, following the earlier start of the storm from yesterday.

I always have thought that sign to be a bit redundant - even more so on the day in September when I took this shot from the other side of the river!

I thought there was also a No Diving sign nearby, but couldn't find a picture of it. The big red and yellow sign on the bridge says "Danger/Turbulent Water/Stay Away".

White yard!

I thought I'd join the snow theme. We've had over 2 feet of snow in the last 3 weeks. That is unusual for us.

My poor little terrier has a path to a tree and a bush back here. Even with that it is a struggle for him to get out and back. Needless to say he doesn't spend a lot of time outdoors right now.

Another wintery picture. No further snow here in Bristol but what did fall is still kicking around, in spite of the bright sunny day we had.

UK looks good even though the snow causes chaos. Worth a photo or two since we don't usually get this much of it:

Wow, telly, that is a gorgeous shot!

Yes, that is a beautiful picture of the tree, Telly! It reminds me of the White Tree of Gondor from The Lord of the Rings

And great picture, Mags! The shot goes very well with your very poetic comment

Another snow scene from yesterday's walk. I don't think I'll be riding my bike in these woods for a while:

This snow and cold spell is throwing up some lovely photos! I'm stuck in town, but even here there is something I've not seen before. This river is very fast flowing tidal, but with each turn of the tide there is increasing ice....

The shoe store had an Elvis trivia contest for his birthday. I won 1/2 price on anything in the store so I ended up with these.

Beautiful winter photos! Love the rusty iron, and what fun winning those shoes

Precious is fascinated by the cord that opens and closes the blinds. I just wish she wouldn't sit on the keyboard to play with it...

I love the snow photos. Temperatures in Mumbai rarely drop below 20C and thank God for that.

bhs, somehow I missed your gorgeous delicately cascading icicle photo, I love it. Love your shoes too!!

Thank you too minkpenny, glad you liked it.
Spanishliz, how many wpm does Precious type?
Two very pretty pink skies from Dot and Martin, and a colourful flower from zorba. (I had to chuckle at your statement )

Clay Tile Roofs ~ Granada, Nicaragua

I was quite pleased to be asked permission to have this posted as the photo of the day on Christmas Day on a Granadian tourist information website.

Great snow pictures everyone, absolutely gorgeous, but I have to say I am so glad we don't get snow where I live.

Yesterday we went shopping for airconditioning. One of the businesses we visited was (Jeff) Mouritz's Gas and Air - so-called because they mainly sell airconditioning and gas heating. Their showroom is located at the rear of a block of shops, hence the sign below. I know, it's my dirty mind, but I couldn't help giggling about the sign!

Beautiful skies and flowers, and I really like those tile roofs. Precious hasn't taken her typing test yet, Mags

Today was bright and sunny and very cold, but the little ploughs had been out so the walking was easy on the way to the store.

What lovely photos you are all posting. I like the idea of never getting below 20*C, Zorba. I really do NOT like cold. Having said that, this looks nice and reminds me a bit of Narnia.

bhs, I see the icicles and note where you are and I heard the cold weather will affect the price of oranges this year?

That's a pretty scene, Dot.

I liked the look of this snow on my roof against the bright blue sky.

This is a little tunnel under the railway in New Malden, you can just see the snow at the end, it's still here as expected.
