I've got similar pictures of Bourton from the 70s to the 90s and one place that doesn't really change.

This is a very ordinary house in Effingham Surrey with a very extraordinary building at the front.

I'm pleased that my picture of Bourton On The Water brought back some memories for other people. It's comforting that some places don't change much through the years.

This last day of January has been what I think of as a "grubby" day - grey sky, grubby snow (what's left of it), grey ice - but on the up side it was less cold today than it has been. This meant I was happy to go for a walk, and indulge my penchant for taking photos of items abandoned by the roadside. This time it's an old TV waiting by a school crossing, with the tower of City Hall visible in the distance!

Let's hope it cheers up now, Liz. Spring is coming! A new thread for Feb is open. This one is still open till the end of Jan for all.
