I've noticed something odd. A quiz of mine went online last night at 10.03. It was first played at 11.12 pm and in total there were 4 plays (by FT members) up to and including 2.57 a.m. However, though all the quiz plays by members are showing up on the scores page, the first one that registers on the "Quiz Plays By Members" section is one from 3.14 a.m.

Also, although 12 FT members are registered as playing on the "The Most Recent Plays" part of the screen, only 7 of them show on the "Quiz Plays By Members" part of the screen. It's not an updating issue, as the last person to play appears on both parts of the screen.

I wondered if it was something to do with excluding scores for the first hour because of the Early Bird badge. However, it was online for five hours before a score registered.

I also wondered if only those who ranked the quiz went on to the "Quiz Plays by Members" part of the screen.

It's no big deal, I am just curious as to how it works. It's a quiz that's not likely to be played much so I know it's going to be ages before it gets a ranking. However, I'd hate to think that any are being lost!

The difference is that "Most Recent Plays" counts all plays - guests, non-gold members and gold members. After a while, these will drop off the screen and be sent to data oblivion.

"Quiz Plays By Members" counts only those for whom the quiz has been tracked - gold members and those free members who have not yet exhausted their 100 quiz limit. These will be retained forever.

Thanks Wesley. I knew there had to be a good reason for it. I'd considered the Gold Membership question, but hadn't thought about those members who may not have their quizzes tracked.
