I really must get around to listing all the themes we have used thus far. The letter W. I dont think we had this one.
Thanks.
PS I will also read through the suggestions thread in time for next week and choose one of your ideas (for a change!)

W for Welcome. This is a 'rangoli' - a pattern made by Hindus using coloured powders at the entrance of the house to welcome visitors, especially during auspicious occasions.

W is for Wollongong (New South Wales) - where we spent a lovely weekend recently (and with some very nice FunTrivia people). This is one of the two lighthouses on the coast at Wollongong.

That's a stunning photograph, MG. I love the wishing well too, Spanishliz, I've never seen one before.

W is for "Wow" regarding the above 3 photos!

This W offering is a Downy Woodpecker - Picoides pubescens
We have 13 species of woodpeckers in Canada and the Downy is the smallest.
In this case, a female (males have a red "dot" behind their eye stripe) who just got lucky and found an insect egg on our willow arbour.

Oh, I love woodpeckers! I used to hear them in the woods next to our apartment when I lived in California, but I never managed to get a photo of them.
