Hello techies! Is anyone familiar with this program who can help me?

I'm making a report in design view. I need to group things in different headers with different "data boxes" (? I don't know what they're called) appearing under various headers, but I can't figure out how to move the boxes off the detail row.

Sorry if this doesn't make any sense. It's my first time using this program and I'm working from a tutorial and the instructions from the teacher say to go into group view and I "should" be able to move things around to look nice. The instructions don't tell me HOW to accomplish this, though! All I seem to be able to do is change the row size.
