I was going to have a lazy day today, but the sun was shining so I just had to go for a walk. As you can see, there's very little snow, but I guess these vessels are waiting for the ice to leave the Bay before leaving their winter perches, eh?

boats always look so strange out of water .. can't help but wonder how they ever float.

To keep within the law of not identifying people in our photos, I've blurred some faces that were too clear. I hope that it's okay.

While on tour in Ft. Lauderdale we came across this palm tree with a cactus growing in it. Apparently the cactus was blown there during a hurricane, liked where it was and continued to grow.

The first lock we went through on our barging trip to France.

That cactus is so weird We have mistletoe bushes that grow out of trees but nothing as huge as your cactus.
And the lock photo is really interesting - I knew how they worked but have never seen a picture .. you wouldn't want to be claustrophobic?

Barge trip in France - heaven...

Sailing regatta in Ft. Lauderdale. Apparently these are all young people perhaps 7 yr and up learning the ropes

Sherry it was heaven. I would recommend it to anyone.




The traffic on the river and canal were very quiet. This is one of the few other boats, coming in the opposite direction, that passed us.

THis is Lake Copago It's actually on our neighbour's place and that is only a sheet of water on the bottom of it but there is a hope that it might fill up this year. The other half has promised a jet-ski if it gets half full so Conor and I have our fingers crossed

Anyone familiar with Tesco's (TE Stockwell and Cohen, the original owners) may be interested to see their first ever store, which is amazingly still there in Burnt Oak Broadway. I wonder if the first Marks and Spencer is as well, although I don't know where it was to find out.

Oh Snow Glorious Snow!

What I am about to say might make people think I have lost my mind but I miss the Snow.

Coming from Northern Ontario I saw my share but living here on the west coast we don't get that much and when we do it rains the next day and turns it to mush.

Need to see snow plough hills and parking lot mounds!

I am sure spanishliz will know what I am talking about.
