Bilateral Symmetry's definition is given as "the property of being symmetrical about a vertical plane". This is correct, if restrictive. Should it maybe be changed to "the property of being symmetrical about a plane", since objects can be bilaterally symmetric on any plane? If people on the site were able to change the definition, maybe.

Thanks MiraJane. I still feel like I'm light years behind everyone else. The thread I found had the first post (by Terry) halfway through a conversation. http://www.funtrivia.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/1218920#Post1218920Is it possible to send me a link to the beginning of the story? I guess the biggest problem is I don't regularly check these pages out. If you can, thanks! Sue

The definition requires a noun that describes a stage of development. Neonate is the infant, not the stage.

Become flat is something that happens passively - if you make something level, IT becomes flat. The clue refers to the actor, your answer refers to the recipient of the action.
The use of the word flush as a verb meaning to make something flush (level, straight, even) is less familiar than its use with reference to flooding something with a liquid, to making birds fly from cover, to turning red from heat or embarrassment, etc. - but it is definitely valid.

Memorise this incorrect definition, as you will see it again until the people who maintain the database the game uses make some change. A hammock is still the word to match with the definition of a hummock. Somebody thought sorbet was just another way to spell sherbet. They're both wrong, but there they are.

Thought I'd post this one:
14. die
Your answer: buy it
buy it means "be killed or die"
The correct answer was snuff it
Two correct answers -- I just was unlucky enough to pick the first choice that fit. . .

Actually, a sorbet is an ice (or a chilled drink) containing no milk, but fruit/fruit juice That's right. If it has any milk at all, it's a sherbet. Okay. But as LT noted above, FunTrivia still cannot change the definition or change sorbet to sherbet. If you want changes made, your best chance at getting them made would be to go to the site that has the dictionary the Ft word games use. What site is that? Why it is listed in that online document all of you reading this swore you read before you first day of playing here. It's the Terms & Conditions of FunTrivia.

Okay. But as LT noted above [...] It's the Terms & Conditions of FunTrivia. Non sequitur. Just agreed with respondent about the meanings of words and was engaged civil discussion. Didn't ask anybody to change anything.

4. fistula
Your answer: a chronic inflammation of the withers of a horse
Yes, I was correct, but. . .
As a medical professional (veterinarian), I take exception to the above definition. The correct term is a fistulous withers. Not all fistulas are inflamed and I suspect that you could have a fistula on the withers of a horse that was not inflammatory (albeit that it is probably uncommon).
Still, the point is that a fistula has a very precise anatomical and medical definition and the above is not it.
I seem to be hitting quite a few of these little gems recently. I realize that this cannot be changed, but I do intend to warn others so hopefully they don't mistake the "correct" answer. Now that I've had my share of poor definitions, I'll get a slew of correct terms with no problems (hopefully).

Good luck on that. I usually see at least one a set that is not quite exactly right.
