Thank you all. I intend to print all your kind comments regarding my son, Chris.(Roos)and give them to his children ,now aged four and six, in a folder which they can read when they are older. Mother Goose I'm so sorry that epitaph cannot be used for Chris, I never wanted to be doing this. Can anyone tell me how to access the posts Chris has submitted. I am brand new to the forum as you know and not real good with computers. I have struggled this far ( I really need Chris's
help, he seemed to be an absolute whiz with computers.} I did a Google search on his call name and got 13600 results. I have opened about 600 of them and many are duplications. There must be an easier way?

Click on this link, it's his profile page : http://www.funtrivia.com/ubbthreads/showprofile.php?User=7251 Towards the bottom of that page, there's a link labelled Show all user's posts. Click on that link and it'll bring up the last 400 posts, with no duplications of posts (that's all the system will allow).

The system needs to be modified to bring up more .. sue943 may know the quick answer to this Q.

I have temporarily adjusted the site settings so that you can call up all his posts and not just the first 400.

You can click on his profile as above, then towards the bottom right you will see Show all user's posts - click on that and it should bring up all the posts.

idad, sorry to hear of your loss.

I didn't know Roos well, but knew him to have a great sense of humor and outlook on life.

I first met your son when he was sharing his trip to Serbia with us. He was great at helping us see the place through his eyes - it was almost like being there.
I am so sorry for your loss.

I didn't know your son, but I read many of his posts. Such a witty and thoughtful man, devoted to his family and very, very brave. I am so very sorry for you and your family -

Thank you Lioness, Qtho and Sue. I have viewed the 1790 or so posts Chris sent and I have printed the ones I think may be more important for his children. As I read them I believe I learned so much more about what made my son tick, how his thought patterns flowed and the sort of man he really was. We have unfortunately had a father and son communication problem for so long it was difficult to overcome historical barriers. I feel I am much closer to him from reading his posts and your comments. Chris loved books and devoured them with a frenzy. The friends and relatives who attended his funeral service were given a bookmark with a photo of Chris on both sides. It was a favorite photo taken some years ago. We hope they will use the bookmark and think of Chris when reading a good book. The poem on one side of the bookmark read as follows:-

"Think of me as one at rest
for me you should not weep
I have no pain,
no troubled thoughts
for I am just asleep
The living thinking me that was
Is now forever still
And life goes on
without me now,
As time forever will.

If your heart is heavy still
Because I've gone away
Dwell not long upon it now
For none of us can stay.
Those of you
who liked me,
I sincerely thank you all
And those of you who loved me
I thank you most of all.

And in my
fleeting lifespan
As time went rushing by
I found some time
to hesitate,
To laugh, to love, to cry.
Matters it now
if time began
if time will
never cease?
I was here, I used it all,
And now I am at peace."

His mother and I are both very glad that
he hesitated long enough to spend so much time with his friends on this forum.
Idad

I am glad that you have been able to read the threads, I will change the settings back now as it does slow down the site.

Yesterday I read quite a lot of those threads myself and learned a lot about Chris that I had forgotten. You will have been able to find out some of his favourite things and first memories etc.

If we can do anything more to help please let us know.

Because of commitments and technology problems I've only just found out about this. 'roos will be sadly missed by those of us that got to know him through his posts. My heartfelt condolences go out to all of his family.

Condolences
To say I only knew Roo from the Forums is doing an injustice. For many many of us FunTrivia is as much or more of a part of life than many of the three dimensional things about us. It is for me, and the time I spend here is probably the most enjoyable of my day. Damnsuicidalroos was a part of that, and as a result a greater part of my life and lives of many others than he would ever have known.
He will be missed

I haven't been around much lately, and was stung to read the news about Cris. I always admired his dedication to family and his never waivering decency. He was plainly a good guy. I didn't always agree with his opinion on things, but that seemed so 'beside the point', somehow. He could state an opinion and not seem pushy, arrogant or obnoxious - just earnest. And earnest goes a long way with me.
God speed, Roos. May we each meet again someday after this is all over.

I've been focused on (and obsessing, slightly) on this song and clip all day. And then I "got it", whatever that mystical thing it was that I was supposed to "get". Let's replace the "you and I with me, etc." part(s) and make it "you are always with us", can we?

Rest in some wild and happy peace, Mr. Chris! This is for you , wherever you are now.
