I was just looking through February photos, I am always amazed by the wonderful shots.

With regard to the first Marks @ Spencers, it was a market stall in Kirkgate Market, Leeds and began life in 1884. In 1984 a clock was erected at the site of the original stall...

and here is one of the visitors ..Jess, a kelpie who is in the bad books at the moment for chasing the chooks. We start sheep work next week so she'll be back in the good books then!

It was a beautiful day for a walk by the river on Tuesday.

I try everything, y' know? I give him some OJ at 8 AM. A little Pepsi at noon. Heck, I even try to serve him a (mostly dry) martini at fashionably six. What's he like? Every day, every night? Head in the -um- toilet!?

It was Mum's 70th yesterday - but she had two parties, one at the weekend and one yesterday My sister had organised to get her three brothers and three sisters to celebrate her birthday with us too

Here is Conor's spelling words for the week .. this particular activity is 'look cover write check' so it's not as though he's actually spelt them. Usually it's done in a workbook but sometimes we do it on the whiteboard (or in chalk on the path, scratched in the dirt .. just something different) and we take photos of it to send to his teacher to show he's done the work.

I love the pictures of all the animals... Gatsby, I'll never understand why kitties like toilet water Mine doesn't drink water from the toilet, thankfully! lol, but I've seen others besides yours doing that.

Welcome to my world- this is the corner of Dunstan Road and Finchley Road in Golders Green, totally meaningless to anyone who hasn't been there and pretty much to many who have. But it's my world, and besides having history from end to end of the main road here (two jobs and one of my best friends to start with), had my IQ test in Dunstan Road in 1971 which I subsequently lost after finding recently Mensa UK now accept outside results, went to two weddings in the synagogue almost next door, and got the bus home from school at the next junction up for 7 years. So from an anonymous looking suburban junction there's a lot of life connected to it.

This is the top of century plant which grows down the back. They shoot up these high spires that have these things on the top.

Thanks Jillian, on Flickr we have groups of people both resident and ex resident in North London and many give personal stories on relevant photos, and far more than you'd think actually turn up people who lived in the houses we've taken. One saw his road in my stream and sent me pictures from when he lived there in the 40s. He'd moved to Australia in 1967 and I said he'd lived three houses from where I am now. Within a year he was back for a visit although he said he had to come here on business anyway.

Here's another view of my world, the shops in Colindale. I rarely shop there as have most similar shops in the two closer lots to me, but is the last known music shop (to think my family owned one and now I have to pay retail...) north of the river and I needed guitar strings. I'm happy to admit the area is almost totally devoid of character, but familiarity gives everywhere character to me as well.

It was a lovely sunny, warm day today, and Precious let me get her harness on so we could go for a walk outdoors. This is in the back yard, but we also went to the front of the house where she went nose to nose with the neighbour's cat (no photo of that, unfortunately). I had to carry her across any remnants of snow, which she refused to walk upon.

Obviously Precious hasn't been talking to my Toby the escapologist. He could make his way out of a harness lead in seconds.

I took this a few days ago but since then there was more rain and it's put another foot in this swamp. After being in drought for so long all this rain is a little unusual!
