OK, here's something that caught me out.
On Sunday an editor accepted one of my quizzes. Five minutes later and before anyone had played it, a second editor took it offline. He was not happy with it. By Tuesday he was happy, and put it online.
I'm making no issue about that, because it helped the quiz.
However, I expected that when it went online on Tuesday, it would be at the top of the new quizzes list. Instead it was back with the Sunday quizzes and so far down the new quizzes list that you would have needed to be a modern-day Meriwether Lewis or William Clark to find it.
It's now crept into double figures for the number of play because some of the good old guys and gals on the Quiz Makers Guild took pity.
Now I know someone is going to quote Billy Joel at me - "Get it right the first time" - but I think that if a quiz has to come offline within such a short space of time, it should go back on again as if it was newly approved.

Thanks to a very understanding, charming and fragrant editor, the quiz is now online in today's new quizzes list.
Go on, check it out: see what all the fuss was about.

Hi darksplash,

Just regarding what happened with your quiz going online then offline so quickly, as I don't want other quiz authors to get the wrong idea.

The quiz submission process is supposed to alert editors when another editor (or the quiz author) is in the quiz template making changes, so that we don't accidentally overwrite each other's work. In this case, Leo and I both clicked to edit your quiz at the same time, and neither of us were alerted to the other's presence in your quiz's template. I accepted your quiz; Leo, who is more familiar with your subject than I, thought that there were ways that some things could be better explained, and sent it back to you for rework. Leo's screen didn't show that your quiz had ever been online.

I'm glad that the situation was able to be resolved and I apologize for my part in the fiasco. It's certainly a very rare circumstance that two editors would click to edit the same quiz at the exact same time.

Hi LadyC
Greetings from the Austrian Alps, thanks for the note.
I guess it was a case of both you and Leo getting excited at the thought of editing a darksplash quiz!
It looks as if Leo and me were at crossed purposes - I thought he knew the quiz had been online.
