Anyone watch that new 10 part miniseries, airs on HBO, that Tom Hanks is involved with, "The Pacific"?
One of my friends her Grandfather PFC Sidney Phillips is being portrayed by Ashton Holmes in some of the episodes.

Yep, watched the first two episodes that have aired so far. A lot of people seem to think it isn't as good as Band of Brothers so far, but I can't say they should be compared in the first place.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying it thus far. Look forward to the new episodes each week.

Amy, how interesting that your friend's grandfather is being portrayed in this mini series!

Over here it starts on April 11th, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Seen the first three episodes. It's taking awhile to get to know the main character names, but the camera work, action and settings have been portrayed really well. If you had liked Band of Brothers, than it is well worth watching The Pacific.
