Very cute!

Thanks for the compliments on my orchid, though I really can't take any credit for it, I just leave it to it's own devices and water it every month or so. I think the exposition of my living room must suit orchids as all of the ones I was given have bloomed continuously for several years, then taken a wee 6 month break before starting all over again.

Here's my son's fedgling rock plant colony:

And today I'll show "Le Grand Turk", a reconstruciton of one of the british frigates (the HMS Blandford) om the battle of Trafalgar, that was anchored in St Malo yesterday. Needless to say my boys loved the outing:

A one-legged seagull? Nah, this chap was actually resting one leg when I took this photo in St Malo on Tuesday last:

Being a country girl I didn't know that seagulls did that and got really concerned one trip to the coast to see so many gulls with only one leg!

These donkeys are in Oatman, Arizona, a deserted mining town. When the miners left, they abandoned the donkeys. They "own" the town, and meander at will.

Jakeroo, that's right, bridleways are for horses but people are allowed to walk as well as long as they get out of the way if they are coming.

As my last old sign went down so well here's one more, Streetview began with only London for 50 miles around and when it went national a year later also filled in a few bits within London it had missed originally. One amazing sign (it had a red circle on top, they went away first and only my second sighting) was found within days, and last night I found this one only a few miles from where I live, also the only one known to survive online.
The reason it's dark as I found it at 12.35am and had taken it by 1am. Besides less traffic I wasn't prepared to wait for one that good and round the corner. The signs look the same anyway with the flash unless on a bridge like the day before that.

For those not familiar, this font and style was replaced in 1964 for lower case or worse still pictograms on their own borrowed from the continent, and raised lettering was also abandoned despite lasting a century if looked after. False economy as always.

Love those donkeys, Divine, and copago, that's a fantastic shot!

I spent the afternoon in town with two of my youngsters. We came across this temporary installation:

Most of Esher Common is planted with conifers which are probably grown for timber.

I'm loving all the photos! Here's a sign of spring in my neighbour's yard.

Nice shot, Copago.

I love living near the sea. This photo was taken some time ago in Mangalore.

Amazing rodeo photos, that must need a very fast exposure which my digital doesn't seem happy with so far.

This is the war memorial in the centre of Golders Green, which is also where half the buses in North London used to terminate before Brent Cross shopping mall took over.

This is the same view from further away. I've probably shown it before (but taken before yesterday) but I can't see Golders Green too many times.
