Now I know why I do not watch soccer. That would have to be the most boring game I have seen- the Dutch team did not seem to want to even get the ball into the opposition half, let alone into the net.

Both teams seemed more interested in hitting the deck than trying to win the ball. I think the referee showed remarkable constraint by not sending off most of the players for dissent.

Congrats to the Spaniards have to be given, but if I ever hear one of those bloody horns again, I think I will scream.

I'm delighted the Spanish won. The Dutch came to this World Cup not primarily looking to play football but looking to stop other teams playing it, and in doing so they have behaved like a bunch of thugs. They attempt to intimidate and to provoke a like response. They were lucky not to have been down to nine men before half time in the final. It's all the more disappointing considering their old football philosophy, although if karate were an Olympic sport, they would be world beaters.

I couldn't believe that wasn't a red card...I was floored.

If only there were as many goals as the number of cards flashed during the game

Definitely a very very poor advertisement for the FINAL of a World Cup...the 3rd place match was much much better and more entertaining.

Congrats to Spain for finally winning it...think they deserved it...

Millions around the world trying to adjust their body-clocks back to normal, suck-up to the boss for missed mornings and deal with the funny sound still ringing in their ears

Congrats Spain
You are World Champions

That'd have a scoreline of 7-7!
