Learning the ropes...

Hi, this is my first post, so please forgive me if this has been asked before. I have looked through previous posts and tried to find this elsewhere on the site, but I am not finding this information. I'm hoping someone here can help me.

I submitted my first quiz last month and had it posted. I see that people have played it and it has been ranked. I am able to see the scores people have attained and found a page that tells me how many people rated my quiz as Excellent or Very Good. I was wondering if there was any way to see how well people are doing question by question. I know I can play my quiz to see what percentage of people are getting a given question correct, but is there a way to see what choices people are selecting if they are not selecting the correct answer? Or even a way to see the percentages without actually playing the quiz myself?

I guess I am wondering if there is a more detailed breakdown of how people are doing on my quiz than I have been able to find so far. I am interested in writing more quizzes, and think this data would be beneficial when it comes to crafting more questions. Plus I am curious. Thanks in advance for your help.

There's no way to see which answer choices people are selecting (I wish there was, though!), but you can see the percentage of correct answers by going into the quiz 'edit' mode. If you click on the edit link next to the quiz in your My Quizzes: Edit section, you'll get the page where you entered all your questions and stuff, and it'll say at the top of each question the % of players answering correctly (and then you can just press your 'Back' button to get out there so you don't accidentally make any changes to the quiz content)

Hi Corranterrik,

I remember a similar question being asked a long time ago (circa 2002). I think in the end what it comes down to is that it would be hard on the system to analyze every question on the site so specifically with a statistic for each possible multiple-choice answer.

If you are, for example, wondering why a certain question in your quiz has players scoring very high or very low, one thing you can do is contact a category editor with your question. The editor might be able to offer some insight into what is making your question too easy or too hard.

The problem is that the system only really knows the correct answer. All incorrect answers are marked "not the correct one". So, it wouldn't just be a matter of making sure information now not stored was stored and made available, it would be one of completely overhauling the entire scoring mechanism.
I agree, it would be nice, but it won't be happening.
