Sorry everyone for not being able to get on and do the thread either .. so busy at the moment! Thanks Sara!!

Here is part the reason why I've been missing. My other half is fond of saying, when things go wrong that "it's the biggest &^%$ up ever" .. this time he was right. Turned out okay but was a LOT of messing around with that power pole and a bogged truck so close and no one, animals included, were hurt.

Cholla plant from Joshua Tree. Even spinier than you might imagine and they have a bad habit of attaching themselves to you and not letting go!

*ugh* and so close to 'nature' by the looks of the background.

Here's how the dogs on trucks are kept out of trouble. I told the truckie he should paint a strong man's body underneath like those photo thingies at fairs.

Taken on the same cycle ride as the fly-tipping photo. Somewhat of a contrast:

So for both Tellies and SatG, are they natural woods or more of a park?

That's a very good photo!

Mine is natural woods within a park. A large field is behind me. Pan around a bit and you'd see a metal table and seats where we sat and ate our lunch.

I discovered the macro function on my camera today, the one for really small stuff, or good close-ups:

There's room for improvement, but it's not a bad start!

Playing with Macro is fun, and can be more than a little addicting! Love your spiderweb!

As we're 'tomorrow' here, I'll just post another, shall I?

As always, awesome pictures, folks ! I love coming in here and looking at all of them. My silly little contro today is about my "the best four bucks I've spent lately" thingy. Found it yesterday in a nearby discount/remainders store. Yep, it's Bill Clinton. And he wiggles (perhaps shimmies?) as he plays his sax. Pretty good tune, too . Officially he's labelled, as per his perch, *Uptown Bill*. P.S. ~ Please be aware that these little 'whatsits' I find in out-of-the-way places jazz me a lot . It's usually quite embarrassing ...

Another photo from Joshua Tree National Park. Warm day so nice to find some shade where you could find it!

This little rosebud is likely to burst into a beautiful fragrant rose just like this one, any day now:
