Ozzz2002 continues his upward surge with that monster trump pick of Stuart Broad. Ozz's tally for the round is MORE than the COMBINED totals of the 3 players who did not pick this round and chose to go with their default teams (Howie72, gtho4, doomed)......there's a lesson there, somewhere

Howie72 and gtho4 went with the same team for the entire series. It paid off the first 2 Tests but fell apart pretty badly in this round. Sypher had a nice pick in Jonathon Trott for this round and as a result, he vaults past Howie into the second spot.

Ozzz2002 makes it 3 in a row with another fantastic round. 5 of the 6 players who lodged tips were separated by 63 points while Ozzz was ahead of the next best by more than 160 points! What's he doing? Some spot-fixing involved here or what? Each of his trumps in the last 3 rounds have delivered for him. As a result of yet another superb round, Ozzz moves into 4th place....

Of the rest of us, gtho4 didn't do too badly, it's just that he had a player in his squad who didn't even play one match of the 3...ditto with Sypher and paper_aero, who still did better than srini701 with 6 active players

The next round features the last 2 matches of the English summer before we turn our attention to the Indian sub-continent.

Default for any newcomers (how optimistic can I get

?) has been changed to the currently least score of the active tippers, since KrivoyRog has not been tipping for over 8 rounds

It took a howler of a pick from Ozzz2002 (why in the world did he pick Ryan Sidebottom

) and another of his picks failed in the last 2 matches, but his run of HoFs has finally stopped (for now)....Ozzz however is closing in on Howie72 for the 3rd place on the ladder....

Sypher had some good picks for the round for his 2nd HoF spot of the comp, and he cuts into srini701's lead for the 2nd consecutive round...

Howie72 and paper_aero both went default and their teams carried over from the previous round and both fared the worst of the lot...this has now been a consistent trend in this year's comp...pick a team, and you do well...you go default at your own risk

This round ends the controversial and acrimonious English summer....the action now turns to the Indian sub-continent for the next 6 rounds before we go Down Under.... Make sure you get your tips in time for the 1st Test between India and Australia starting October 2 (tipping threads are up)

It was a fantastic Test match right till the very end and it took a "very very special" knock as usual, to knock the Aussies out. This defeat is more painful than Kolkata in 2001, opined Ricky Ponting...

Sypher here picked up his second consecutive HoF with his trump Shane Watson coming real good for him and he eats further into srini701's lead at the top of the ladder.

KrivoyRog did not lodge tips for 10 rounds now, so he has been dropped from the list. Should he decide to reappear again (in time for Ashes maybe?), he will start at the second lowest score among active tippers.

For the second round in a row, I have the honour of extending a most hearty welcome to a newcomer, this time to N-Bomb

! Wow! the comp now has 10 tipsters and I just hope the interest lasts till February

The incredible Sypher makes it a hattrick of HoFs to follow Ozzz in that list and shoots back into the lead at the top.

paper_aero and gtho4 also had fantastic rounds and are steadily moving up...

Ozzz had VVS Laxman as his trump and Laxman unfortunately pulled out at the last minute (as did Bollinger for MrFox), leaving Ozzz clutching at a spoon for the round and a slight slip on the ladder

The next round features the 3 ODIs between India and Australia, so if you haven't picked your team yet, do so before Saturday...and many thanks to the newcomers (Eraserhead, MrFox and N-Bomb) for infusing a lot of interest in the comp again....

Scoring for this round (round 16) follows once I sort some minor glitches in the code...

It turned out to be a damp squib of a series, with 2 of the 3 matches abandoned without a ball being bowled

India won the only match that was completed and so win both the Tests and the ODIs against Australia for the first time in 24 years!

paper_aero will probably be the one who will be most upset because of this....his players seemed to be in form and he was set to cross the 10K mark this round....he will have to wait

He however continues his recent impressive showing and is pulling ahead of defending champion Howie72 (that was just to spur the champ a bit) and the dark horse Ozzz in the race for the 3rd spot on the podium.

But plenty of action still to come....3 Tests between India and New Zealand, followed by 5 between Australia and England (we will include the India-South Africa series alongside the Ashes for a couple more BIG bonus rounds), I expect to see plenty of movements all over the place if you only remember to lodge your teams

Doomed will continue to score default scores for another 3 rounds. If he doesn't turn up for the Ashes, he will also drop out

Just hope Eraserhead and MrFox will not wait till the start of the Ashes to mark their return to the comp

The next 3 rounds will continue to feature the Indians (against the poor Kiwis) in quick succession, so try and get your teams in before the first Test starts on November 4.

The first Test between India and New Zealand, which everybody widely tipped will end in 3-0 to India, ended in a draw, but not before India got a big scare on the 4th afternoon from Chris Martin. At one stage India were 15/5 and only a resolute knock from Laxman with support from Dhoni and Harbhajan saved them from plenty of blushes....it was a dream debut Test for Kane Williamson! We will hopefully have a competitive series with some good cricket!

paper_aero picked up his second consecutive HoF award while N-Bomb followed suit with his second consecutive spoon

... we had Ozzz and Sypher win 3 successive HoFs in this year's comp ...will paper_aero repeat the feat? wait and see...

Doomed will continue to score default scores for another 2 rounds. If he doesn't turn up for the Ashes, he will also drop out

New Zealand continues to stump people...after losing a ODI series 0-4 to Bangladesh (of all the teams in the world), they were expected to lose 0-3 to the No.1 team in Tests, India.....not only have they drawn two Tests, they had the better of the exchanges too! It's all down to the 3rd Test now...

gtho4 blitzed his way to a second HoF here by picking a neat team and vaults his way past the 10K mark....Ozzz also had a nice round to keep gtho4 at bay for now, but I seriously think with 7 rounds to go and with at least 2 of them being bonus rounds, any of the top 6 here can still make the podium this season of the comp!

Sypher picked his first spoon of the season and allowed srini701 to regain a pittance of a lead.
