Six weeks ago Dave (aka Gatsby) had a fall and it has been discovered that he broke his hip. He is undergoing surgery today so please add your good wishes and I will print this off and enclose with a card that I am sending to him.

Get well soon Dave, we miss you.

Edited to say that FT forum rules go out of the window with this one - post images if you like but PLEASE avoid copyrighted images.

Oh no! Hope the surgery helps. In the meantime, please let us all be your "crutch". It's really okay to lean on folks sometimes - best wishes!

We must have had falls at almost the same time! I slipped and fell on stone steps at the local swimming pool, falling on my back and was taken to hospital. Fortunately I didn't damage my spine; very painful but just a cracked rib, now fully recovered.
Your injury was worse, but will I'm sure heal in time, so best wishes for a full recovery

That's good they found out- maybe it was why you couldn't move not long ago. Hopefully either way you'll be a lot more mobile when it's fixed up. Look forward to seeing you back.
