Two games were picked by no-one and 2 games were picked by just the one tipster. Theoretical best was thus 6/10 .. szabs was the only one to achieve 6/10. Her opponent srini701 picked 5/10 and lost! That makes it 5 losses over the last 6 games for srini701.
With such low scores you'd think we'd have a draw or two but no, not one. There were 8 wins and 8 losses. The two leaders both lost, and the two tail-enders both won .. wonders will never cease!
No-one in the top 5 retained their spot from last week, ditto the bottom 5 players. Sypher and PaulE climb to 4th and 5th respectivley, and both set new high-water marks for the season .. Sypher has won 5 of the last 7 games, and PaulE has won 3 games back-to-back.

One game was picked by no-one and 5 games were picked by 4 or fewer players .. aka just 4 of the 10 games had double figures in the correct picks column. Four players picked 5/10 for the weekly win and 3 players collected a spoon each with 3/10, which gave us just 3 wins in the FT-PL. The rest of the FT-Pl games were all draws.
No one in the top four won, and no one in the bottom five lost! The differential between first and last remains at 17 pts for the 3rd straight week. LeoDaVinci retains his 2 point lead out front despite collecting another spoon .. he's still looking for his first weekly win!
FussBudget is still bringing up the rear .. his win-less streak is now 10 games, but he's yet to collect a wooden spoon! DanielPoulson is also looking for his first spoon.
PaulE won his 4th straight game to climb to 4th place, a new high water mark far this season .. srini701 lost again to make it 6 losses in the last 7 games, but retains 8th place for the 3rd straight week.
illiniman14 is still in the bottom half of the table, but with a positive goal difference!
One more round and we're half way through the FT-PL season.

Shoot...I don't mind the loss...just didn't want the spoon....think I went 43 or 44 rounds again without a spoon before this damn thing now  wow, that one went through to the keeper. Your last spoon was in week 10 last year, then 28 spoon-less weeks followed through to the end of the season (38 weeks). This year you went spoon-less from week 1 to week 13, for a toal of 41 weeks without a spoon! Here's something for you to chew over .. before that spoon last year, you went 48 weeks without a spoon. Put the two runs together and we have 90 straight weeks with just one spoon. That has to be a record .. you have until the first week of January to see if anyone else has had a streak > 80 weeks with just one spoon. I might add this into the FT Record Book as another category. [ HoF Record Book to be updated for 41 weeks ]

I've got 77 weeks with one spoon in the UEFA Champions' League. My streak of 47 weeks without one, then the spoon, then the previous 13 weeks the 07-08 season and 16 weeks the 06-07 season before my prior one. That's over 60.
Plus I've got three weeks without a spoon now... and running... :P That's 80 weeks.
Someone should check (before/after) ElfTwinkle's streak in the NHL, Sypher in the FLC, and gtho in the MLB when they all managed their streaks.

One game was postponed due to the weather, making 9 the maximum picks for the week .. illiniman14 picked 7 of them! He missed the upset at Chelsea, and the home win by Manch City. BxBarracuda picked 6/9 and lost! This week's win (which makes it 3 wins over the last 5 games) sees illiniman14 climb up the table to 10th place, one short of his season high.
illiniman14 is *still* in the bottom half of the table, but with a positive goal difference!
LeoDaVinci is held to a draw by szabs, who's now undefeated in three .. her longest undefeated streak for the season. LeoDaVinci now shares the lead with paper_aero, who beat srini701 6-5. This makes it loss #7 over the last 8 games for srini701, but he retains 9th spot yet again (he's been 9th or 8th for 6 straight weeks). If he loses again next week he will surely drop down the table, as there are now 4 players biting his heels 2 pts behind him.
PaulE was held to a draw by Sypher to bring to an end a run of four straight wins. Nonetheless, the draw was enough to climb up the table yet again .. 3rd place is a new high water mark far this season.
ozzz2002 is this week's wooden spooner to make it 2 losses over the last 3 games; and he slips to 5th place, a new low water mark for the season .. ozzz2002 has more weekly wins than anyone else, and no one has more spoons. The last 8 weeks of the weekly HoF makes for interesting reading - one week ozzz2002 is the weekly winner, and the next week he's the wooden spooner!
FussBudget is still bringing up the rear .. his win-less streak is now 11 games, but he's yet to collect a wooden spoon! DanielPoulson is also looking for his first spoon. On the other hand, LeoDaVinci is still looking for his first weekly win, and he's our leader!
We have now reached the half-way mark in the FT-PL tipping comp. The top half of the table (a total of 8 players) are now separated by just 6 pts .. which is a mere 2 wins .. and the other 8 players making up the bottom half of the table are separated by 7 pts. The memberships of these two halves cannot change next week, as there's a 4 point gap between 8th and 9th.

Last week half the FT-PL games ended in a draw. This week there were no draws; all 8 games had a winner.
szabs picked 5/10 but lost, bring to an end her five-game undefeated run. On the other hand PaulE and gtho4 picked 4/10 and won! PaulE has now won 5 of the last 6 games, to remain just 3 pts behind the joint leaders LeoDaVinci abds paper_aero.

He's now running 2nd last, but with a goal difference of just -1 (he's had just 3 wins vs. his 7 losses) and no wooden spoons! DanielPoulson is also looking for his first spoon. On the other hand, LeoDaVinci is still looking for his first weekly win, and he's our joint leader with paper_aero.
Round 17 played Saturday 18th December has been scrapped and a replacement will be run in March next year (see post above). We now have a 4 week rest for the festive season and the new year .. the FT-PL comp will recommence on Saturday 15th January 2011.

The FT Premiership returns after a mid-winter break to more of the same .. paper_aero and LeoDaVinci are threatening to runaway with this. LeoDaVinci drew for the 4th time in 5 games, allowing paper_aero (who's now won 3 straight) to move into the lead solo.
Four players picked 7/10 .. two of those four drew, one won, and and one lost .. illiniman14 was beaten 8-7 by paper_aero, to bring to an end a run of 6 games undefeated. On the other hand Howie72 picked 5/10 and won!
The eight players in 3rd to 9th spots are separated by 4 pts and then there's another 4 pts back to 10th .. it looks like the two leaders will fight over the gold medal, and those eight will battle it out for bronze. The rest of us are too far behind to jag a podium finish .. no-one from 10th and below has managed to break-through and move into any of these 8 positions since week 7.
FussBudget won again to make it back-to-back wins .. before these two games he'd only won twice all season! He's now running 4th last with, would you believe it, a positive goal difference .. and he's still looking for his first woodens spoon, as is DanielPoulson, who's one spot below him in 3rd last place.

Remarkably, there were no draws this week; eight wins and eight losses! Two games were picked by everyone, and two games were picked by no-one, which means just six games "had meaning" for the FT Premiership, and we should have a bucket-load of draws, but we didn't. Four players picked 5/10 .. two lost and two won .. szabs won 5-4, ditto Sypher, srini701 lost 5-7 to Copago (who ended her streak of 7 games without a win), and Howie72 lost 5-6 to paper_aero (who extends his winning streak to 4 straight). paper_aero and LeoDaVinci are no longer threatening to runaway with this, they have .. they both won, and have now put 6 pts (two wins) between themselves and the rest of us. Everyone except one from 3rd to 10th place lost! Sypher was the odd man out.. he won and replaced PaulE in 3rd place (which is a new high-water mark for the season for Sypher). On the other hand, everyone except one from 10th down to to 16th won! The odd man out was DanielPoulson, who was the no-show this week. paper_aero and LeoDaVinci are continuing to runaway with this; they both won (again), and have now put 8 pts (almost 3 wins) between themselves and Sypher in 3rd place .. where 3rd, 4th and 5th are separated by a single point. From there the next eight players are separated by just 4 pts.
The win by paper_aero was his 5th consecutive win; he's now undefeated in 6 games. FussBudget won again to make it 4 straight wins .. he's also undefeated in 6 games. LeoDaVinci and gtho4 are undefeated in 7 games.
ozzz2002 has now gone 7 games without a win and falls to 7th place, a new low for the season .. and the the nightmare continues for dg_dave and DanielPoulson .. they've now lost 4 straight.
Apart from the first 3 and the bottom 3 no one retained their spot from last week except for (again) srini701 .. he's been in 9th place for the last 6 weeks (and either 8th or 9th for 10 straight weeks).

Possible rule changes for next year:
when no one picks an upset win, whoever picks a draw will be awarded a correct pick (and thus FussBudget would've been awarded a correct pick for picking a draw Wolves v Manch Utd). Ditto if no-one picks a draw, whoever picks the upset win (this won't apply if the 16 picks lodged were 8-0-8 H-x-A).

You would have won anyway...
I am actually against it. I think, this competition anyway, is a straight shootout between two players head-to-head. There shouldn't be any compensation for going against the field, just for going against the person you're up against. That's why there are no bonus points.

I agree with LDV. This is indeed a straight match, 1 on 1. In FAPL, definitely (up to Sypher), but here, no.
