FussBudget failed to lodge picks and steps aside for Sypher to take over the reins. Arrgghh, was I happy when I realised that  Just as happy as the Leeds result, bunch of dills. 4-6 is a tennis score. I didn't mind the 4 part so much, but shipping 6 goals at home? After being 4-1 up?

The post regarding the score of the game was at 13:55 FT...or 5:55am Sydney time.

The two posts were 46 minutes apart when I looked at them, and therefore he missed the deadline; and I never came back to have another look. They're 12 hours and 46 minutes apart! I will now go outside into the yard, face east, wonder what I did and/or what I was thinking, say a few hails; and then come back inside and re-do the posts for two weeks. Don't these two look alike? They do if you're not awake ..

We have a new leader. KrivoyRog collects his first spoon for the season and steps aside for Fussbudget to take over as front runner. KrivoyRog's lead of 8 pts may have evaporated to negative, but this is not the record .. gtho4 had a lead of 11 pts in week 29 of the 07-08 comp disappear, and then went one better and finished off the podium.
Looks like we now have a contest for all medals .. the two out front are separated by a single point, and the 5 players in 3rd to 7th are separated by just 4 pts.
Someone has picked the result of every game so far this season .. week 8 saw the first game picked by no-one when Burnley v Bristol City finished a nil-all draw. JaneMarple and ozzz2002 scored a bonus point each for picking the upset win.
PaulE and paper_aero are still looking for their first spoon.
Last week 8 pts separated the top 7 players. This week the spread between them is down to 7 pts. |

KrivoyRog collects back-to-back spoons with picks of 1/12 and falls down the table again .. ozzz2002 was just one better at 2/12 but collected 3 bonus pts, and an entry in the FLC Record Book.
The top 5 are now separated by a mere 3 pts .. it was 5 pts last week and 6 pts the week before.

paper_aero replaces Sypher out front. He's the 4th different leader for the season.
Between us we averaged a strike rate of just 27.5% or 3.3/12 (6th lowest on record) .. 10 of 12 games were tipped by 4 or less players .. and 7 of 12 games were tipped by just one or two players!
With such a paltry strike rate we scored 13 bonus pts between us, the second highest ever for one round of the FLC tipping comp ... ozzz2002 and his dart board bagged three of them (a repeat of his performance 2 weeks ago). He picked 3/12 and all three were solo picks! The season is just 11 weeks old, and he's already scored 13 bonus pts; almost double the next best of 7 bonus pts.

All hail ozzz2002! Hollywood saw The Wonderful Wizard of Oz hit the big screen in 1939 .. welcome to the encore performance 71 years later, ozzz2002 style. When mere mortals are picking 3/12 and 4/12 in the FLC tipping comp, in a round with *seven* away wins, ozzz2002 picks an outrageous 7/12 .. and of those seven correct picks, four of them were solo picks!
Bristol City v Reading: Bristol City, stone cold motherless last without a home win, are playing Reading (they were a comfortable 10th in mid-table) .. 10 of 13 tipsters picked Reading to win away .. ozzz2002 picks Bristol City to win at home. That's one bonus point.
Leeds Utd v Leicester City: Leeds were at home to Leicester, who were running 3rd last, one win (3 pts) above Bristol City .. ozzz2002 picks Leeds to lose at home. That's bonus point number two .. please note that he's now picked two of the bottom three clubs to win.
Millwall v Portsmouth: another away win, another bonus point (srini701 also picked this).
Norwich City v Crystal Palace: Norwich are undefeated at home, Palace are another cellar dweller; they were running 2nd last, sitting between Bristol City and Leicester. Not a problem, ozzz2002 picks Palace to win away. That's bonus point number four .. he's now picked all three of the bottom three clubs to win, two of them away!
That remarkable effort sees ozzz2002 equal the all-time FLC record for bonus pts, held by KrivoyRog, of *four* bonus points in one round! Please note that he has 17 bonus pts after 12 rounds .. ten more than next best of 7 bonus pts .. at this rate he'll be in the 20s before anyone else reaches double figures. One more: four weeks ago, back in Round 8, ozzz2002 was down in 9th place some 10 pts behind the leader. In four rounds he's climbed up to 2nd place, just 2 pts in arrears.
To complete the list of achievements in a week with seven away wins, no one beat default. JaneMarple forgot to pick but climbs up the ladder from 3rd to 1st place. This is not the first time no one has beaten default, but it is the first time someone running default has climbed up to 1st place! She's the 4th different leader for the season.

paper_aero picks a humungous 9/12 (that's one bonus point) and skips away to a 4 pt lead. His second bonus point was picking a draw Bristol City v QPR .. bottom club vs. first! The three games he missed: Burnley losing at home (picked by no-one), Portsmouth winning away (he picked a draw), and Watford losing at home.
KrivoyRog collects back-to-back wooden spoons to make it 4 spoons in the last 6 weeks .. and our early season leader drops to 8th place, a new low-water mark for the season.
Last week we had four home wins and seven away wins; and no-one beat default. This week was the exact reverse - seven home wins and four aways; and everyone equalled or beat default except for the two wooden spooners. PaulE and paper_aero are still looking for their first wooden spoon (both of them are in the top six).
The top six are starting to pull away from the rest of the field .. the gap back to 7th is now 5 pts .. it was 2 pts last week and zero the week before that. |

It happened, the trend continues -- a fortnight ago paper_aero and ozzz2002 (1st & 2nd) collected a wooden spoon each. Last week Howie72 (equal 1st) collected the wooden spoon. This week PaulE (2nd place) broke his duck and collected his first wooden spoon for the season. If this trend is to continue ozzz2002, who's now running second, will have his name up in lights next week!
We chose poorly this week .. 10 of the 12 games were solo picks, or picked by just 2 or 3 players! Collectively our strike rate was 20.5% which is an all-time record low for the FLC tipping comp. A new benchmark for mediocrity has been set. Between us we lodged 144 picks for the 12 games, and hit pay dirt with just 32 .. the results table at the start of this post has enough room to show all correct picks, every single one of them!
The weekly winner at 5/12 was also an all-time low .. for the umpteenth time. We came within a whisker of 4/12 as the weekly winner. Cardiff City equalised in the 77th minute against Reading and, if they scored again to win, we would've had three players as weekly winners with 4/12 each: paper-aero, dg_dave and LeoDaVinci.
ozzz2002 collected yet more bonus points .. so did dg_dave and now we have two players in double digits; one on 11 bonus pts, and one on 22 pts.
Last week the first four were separated by 3 pts (it was 4 pts a fortnight ago) .. this week the gap is out to 5 pts. |

Awww George, you listed EVERY single correct tip this round except one Nottm Forest v Cov City had 8 correct tips you said, but listed only 7 names....

Awww George, you listed EVERY single correct tip this round except one Nottm Forest v Cov City had 8 correct tips you said, but listed only 7 names.... I'll have to try and figure this one out manually. I left the printout at work! Both lists add to 32 so the numbers are right.
