LeoDaVinci sees his lead cut to three after taking a Spoon this week, as did three others.
All five upsets this week were on the road, and that is the reason two-thirds of the upsets have been on the road this season (51/75).
I've been true to the Lions for years through thick and thin (mostly thin) but these old aching bones are telling me they are going to win themselves a road game
We should have followed his lead...the Lions win their first road game since October 28, 2007! Both davegrilla and triviapaul went with him, and all three snag a bonus point. Well done to the Lions for ending their record run...they hold both # 1 and # 2 longest road losing streaks though.
Maybe the tipping comp organizer should pick his team to win... They won a closer one than thought (especially after leading 27-7 at one point!)...and now he's 11-3 on picks with that team. Only two teams in the NFL have a better record than that!
Just a reminder: if you only pick one underdog, you are ineligible for bonus points, and I know exactly how many are picked.
Any inactive tippers who tip and are below 2nd last, their score will jump to 2nd last, however, if they are above 2nd last, they will not lose points to fall to 2nd last (or the lowest active tipper - which is 5th last!)

The penultimate week of the season sees some oddities...the Vikings and Eagles play on Tuesday for the first NFL game on a Tuesday since 1946, and then the Eagles lose as a 14 point favorite at home! No one had the gumption to pick that major upset, which sent the Eagles to 3rd in the NFC.
We also have a major bottleneck for that bronze medal at this point...there are four players joint 3rd and another player one point behind. The top three all get a Spoon this week (wonder if that is a first ever?) Barring a fumble at the goal line, LeoDaVinci will be the first ever repeat NFL winner (this is our 11th comp).
With the way Cincinnati had been playing, everyone but brownie83 thought San Diego would win...we were all wrong, and brownie83 picked up that point for a correct tip.
Maybe the tipping comp organizer should pick his team to win... They lost again...and now he's 11-4 on picks with that team. Only two teams in the NFL have a better record than that! KrivoyRog did pick against them and earned a bonus point for it. If only the Cowboys hadn't given up two touchdowns off interceptions...

No, that is not a misprint...LeoDaVinci was three points ahead last week and is five points behind this week for an eight point swing! Not only did illiniman14 take the weekly win, he gained two additional bonus points, and makes our 11th different winner in the NFL comp. Congratulations sir on keeping the string alive! It was also the only week he led the comp.
Barring a fumble at the goal line, LeoDaVinci will be the first ever repeat NFL winner
LeoDaVinci threw the challenge flag trying to say he didn't fumble, but the call stands...and he is charged with a timeout.  Illiniman14 not only got the fumble, he took it into the end zone for a touchdown!
Three games ended with the same scoreline...all three of those teams won at home by 31!
Several tippers tied for the most wins with two (paper_aero wins bronze on a countback over dg_dave (+2 to -1) and ozfei (+2 to +1) and dg_dave never fell below 3rd). Everyone else earned either zero wins or one...and with 29 tippers, it was difficult to get a weekly win (you'd have to beat 28 others!)
Dizart must have gone with the flow, as he was the only tipper to have zero wins, zero Spoons, and zero bonus points (he is NOT a zero though, especially staying in the top ten with that feat - well done on that sir!) Terry had no awards, but did earn a few bonus points, and our silver medalist didn't even have a win!

Glad I could keep the streak going... I just plan to break it next year. I'm still somewhat in shock as well - I wrote down all the games LDV and I disagreed on this week and one-by-one I got all of them, so this could've easily gone the other way, I was just lucky enough to get it going the last week. Congrats to LDV for a great season as well as all 3 tied for 3rd as well!

I must admit, I did the games on the fly from my vacation, so I didn't really check what the spreads were and who was slated to start. No excuses, just life. Anyway, I'm happy with 2nd, and, hope to see all y'all next year for this.

Thanks for the fun in a well run comp again Dave. Even though I didn't win (maybe next year) I am very happy with my tied third place, and the fact that I avoided a Wooden Spoon. Will definitely be back again next year.
