Jane is arriving in the island this afternoon so I am hoping to meet her and her family sometime in the next few days.

Just after I arrived home from the gym lunchtime my phone rang and it was Jane's mother saying they were a mile down the road from me and could we arrange to meet. I rapidly washed and changed then shot down the road to St Brelade's Bay in order to meet them.

When Jane and Ann arrived in Jersey yesterday they had a HUGE surprise. Jane's niece's husband who is a soldier is home on leave from Afghanistan and without telling anyone else they booked a holiday in Jersey and arrived a few days ago!

So eat your hearts out, I have met the two princes! They are two gorgeous boys, little Elliot is now toddling holding onto his granny's hand - aw, they are both SO cute.

Jane, Ann and myself then left the rest of the family and headed off to Big Vern's for some lunch - FT people cannot come to Jersey and not have a meal there.

We took a few photos then went looking for a cabbage walking stick, without success, next we went to Corbiere for an icecream. After eating that and chatting to the icrecream seller we went for a drive through the middle of the island then out to the east to gaze at the coast of France. Sadly it was then time to take them back to their hotel.

It's great when however spread out we all are we manage to meet up with a few people sooner or later. We may only meet in person rarely but a family nonetheless.

A good time was had by all!! It was my first ever holiday out of England. Indeed, it was four generations, with Mum, her two daughters, her two grandaughters, and her two great-grandsons. The weather was perfect, and pictures will be along eventually
