"Wow, what a gorgeous picture MotherGoose"
Yes, as you can imagine, I took hundreds of pictures of the Rock - this one is my favourite. I love the way the earth looks like it has varicose veins.

"It is such a pleasure checking this thread every day and looking at such beautiful pictures Just wanted to say that!"
I couldn't agree more. I love the glimpses I get into other people's worlds. It has really made me more appreciative of my own environment, realising that what I consider mundane is interesting to other people. I look at my own little world in a different way now.

I think MotherGoose posted some Sturt Peas last month - well, here's some more. I've never seen so many of them as what are around at the moment. Not on our place but a friend tells me of a patch not too far away that have pink ones and white ones in it. Very rare.

This is the mighty Todd River. Alice Springs (named after Alice Todd) is built around the Todd River (named after her husband, Charles Todd). The riverbed is dry for about 95% of the year. It had rained a week or so before we arrived, hence the little bit of water present.

I took a wonderful day trip to Toronto Zoo today, so be prepared for some animal photos
This polar bear seems to be feeling the heat, though it was a lovely autumn day today, cool enough for walking all afternoon, after a really hot, humid summer.
