One of my favourite things at the Zoo yesterday was being able to walk through the kangaroos compound, with no fence between them and me. The only stipulation was visitors must "stay on the path".

Very odd, I hadn't seen the previous photo (this has happened a few times before) and what have I got today? The Brent Reservoir, five minutes from my house, another man made lake. What are the chances of that happening?

Thanks Dot, that's one reason why I live here.
Here's one of a pair of houses probably designed by Ernest Trobridge between the wars. He's done many near me and include castles and thatched cottages, all built around the same time.

This is one of the waterholes around the base of Ayer's Rock (Uluru). As you can see, The Rock is not always the bright red colour that you typically see in pictures. The rock is actually grey-black and the red colouration is a thin crust of iron oxidation. The rock can also acquire a silver colour due to deposition of minerals when it rains.

This is the Wills Memorial Building in Bristol, part of the University of Bristol. They've just finished restoring the building which is generally considered to be the last great gothic building to be built in the UK.
