The NBA season is just under two months away. Come one, come all and tip your way through the NBA! Rules: - One point for a correct tip.
- Deadlines will be Friday midnight FT with about a three hour grace period thereafter. The tipping comp organizer will determine if a post is late.
- Default is equal to the number of away wins each week.
- Tips not in by the first game's tipoff will receive default score.
- We will tip the opening day games, then 15 games each weekend (all Saturday and enough Sunday/Monday to equal 15).
- As per last year, the midpoints around the All-Star weekend will not be tipped.
Bonus points: - One point for picking a result solo, or one of two, provided 12 tippers apply.
- One point for picking 13 or more of 15. There were enough weeks last year that earned a near miss bonus, and this year's comp will determine next year's eligibility.
- Tippers will be ineligible for bonus points if they tip all homes or all bar one.

There will be 15 games...all the Saturday games and enough Sunday/Monday games to fulfill the 15.

Welcome to the 2010-2011 NBA season! Will paper_aero retain his title or will see a new champion this year? We have 24 more weeks to find that out.
Welcome new tippers N-Bomb, who takes the first weekly win, George95, and BxBarracuda. No shows from last year are alphabetical ASA (long term NBA tippers know his style), ElfTwinkle, and brownie83.
How many teams score 128 and lose? Ask the Rockets, because they did, but against any other team, they'd have won the other games.
The Nets have more wins (one) in one game than they did (zero) in their first 18 last year...way to go New Jersey and Avery Johnson. They beat the Pistons to keep from extending their now-NBA record worst start to a season. Will someone threaten that this year? Are any of the teams that bad? We'll see...by week 4 or 5.
The new look Heat were beaten at Boston, who then lost to Cleveland on the road. Didn't LeBron once play for Cleveland? He can't beat them, but his old team can. How many wins will the Heat have? One prediction by ESPN put them at 78-4...don't see that happening. Sixty-five is possible, but to eclipse the 72-10 Bulls?

Yeah, I have to admit I'm a fairweather Cavs fan. Definitely not a fairweather Browns fan, obviously. I'll probably catch a game here and there, but won't be following as closely as I did when Lebron was here.
The new look Heat were beaten at Boston, who then lost to Cleveland on the road. Didn't LeBron once play for Cleveland? He can't beat them, but his old team can.
Maybe Dan Gilbert's curse is working already.

We tipped our best overall so far this season, with an average of 10/15.
Not only did George95 take the weekly win, he also was the only one to take a bonus point by tipping at least 13, and has skipped to a six point lead after only three weeks!
Our organizer must not be good at basketball, as he has now dropped to the cellar. He and gtho4 both take the cutlery of the week, and they both scored over half!
Two games were not decided in 48 and literally took five (one did twice as five wasn't even enough)...extra minutes.
Five games were tipped by everyone this week...that's one of every three!

Outside of two, we all tipped ten or more this week. Those two are the Spoon taker and the cellar dweller.
The rate we are going we should break 70% next week, since we've gone up each week tipping.
We had three pick up bonus points. Both dg_dave and Sypher picked the Pistons to win in Sacramento, and themonarch picked the Suns to win at Staples...we all were saying "what was he thinking?" when we should have been on his track.
Five games were tipped by everyone again this week...after having five tipped by everyone last week as well!

Miami lost again, and seven of the 13 decided that Miami would beat Dallas in Dallas, considering Bosh is now 0-8 in Dallas for his career, and Miami is 0-13 in their last 13 in Dallas.
Two players went out on a limb and scored bonus points; Sypher did it twice.
N-Bomb fell to his lowest point of the season, in fourth...even though he scored nine.
Outside of ozzz2002, all other tippers have at least broken the top 10 now...and ozzz is not far from it, even in 13th.
ConzaBhoy has gone inactive, but will continue to earn default scores. If someone tips and his score is below 2nd last, he will come even with 2nd last and score correct tips. If his score is above 2nd last, he will not gain points as he would be over the bottom.
