I'd like to add Interesting Information to an old quiz of mine that presently has none (music section). How should I go about that? Sending myself a CN doesn't seem real appropriate, but maybe that's the best solution.

FYI—I haven't started researching or writing these IIs, so this could be several months from now.

Related question: The questions are OK as is (no changes needed), but are not composed in current Funtrivia format. If I do add these IIs, would I also be required to rewrite all the questions in the current format or could they just stay as is?

I'm sure an editor would advise you on this. If I would desire to make thorough changes to an archived quiz, I would contact one of the editors of the quiz category.

Definitely contact a music editor - since you say it's an old quiz, I'd assume it's archived, so you're not able to make the changes yourself right now anyway. Your editor can advise you if the changes (or additions, in this case) you want to make are a good idea, and the quiz will most likely have to come offline while you're making those changes.

If it were just one thing (like you wanted to update one sentence) sending a CN to yourself would be fine because then the editors would see it and could make the change for you to an archived quiz, but for a significant change/addition, definitely contact an editor first.

Probably it would be easiest if we just took the quiz offline for you. Then you could make all changes, and resubmit. When you've done the research and are just about ready, drop me or another Music ed a line. As for updating the format of the questions, since you've got the quiz offline anyway, might as well bring it up to code. I assume that they don't actually "ask" a question? That's a pretty easy change to make, so no reason not to do it.
