Did you start calling him rude names in French? With the same level of rudeness you used in this thread?

This person has had his account here and on the main site closed for using abusive language - we can read French and if we couldn't then we can put it through a translator program.
The post in the link has been removed.

This is such a nice place, why would anyone want to be rude? After nearly ten years here, I still ask that question at times. Being rude is the same as signing a "pink slip" to FT.

signing a "pink slip" to FT. Is that something to do with cars?

signing a "pink slip" to FT. Is that something to do with cars? Not in this case. It means to lose something.

In Australia, well, New South Wales, a pink slip is required to register your car. It is basically a certificate of roadworthiness and is issued by a mechanic. If your car fails a roadworthiness check, you could be issued with a white slip. On the other hand, if your car was not previously registered, or was registered in another state, you will need a blue slip. Before you can actually legally drive the car, you will also need a green slip. This is issued by an insurance company and certifies that you now have Compulsary Third Party (CTP) insurance coverage.
I am sure that this will clear up all the confusion in this thread...

The registration for a car is indeed a "pink slip" in Canada and the States as well. However, in an alternate meaning, getting a pink slip in your pay package means that you have been let go. I'm not certain which meaning the original poster had in mind, but I would suspect the latter, in that they would be getting themselves kicked off the site. But either definition works!

well, I'm from Canada and out here in the west, a "pink CARD" is your insurance validation, whereas a "pink SLIP" in your pay envelope is the document that informs you that you've been fired/laid off. There's no such thing as white/green/blue slips for cars here, but if you've bought a vehicle in the US and intend to bring it across the border into Canada, you WILL need to fill out a YELLOW slip.
Nevertheless, I absolutely "get" what daver meant! lol

I've never heard of a registration card for a car being called a "pink slip". In Ontario, where I grew up, and in New Brunswick where I live now, the registration card is green. The insurance card is pink. I've only heard "pink slip" in reference to being let go from work.

I've only heard the "pink slip" in reference to car registration in "Grease" when they "race for pinks" at the end
