I usually picked up a souvenir or two from every new football ground I visited, they must do very well from people like me. I think the Southend teddy bear is possibly the favourite. This is a very impressive 1930s block of flats in Cricklewood where our friends used to live

That's beautiful, Reeshy! Any pic is fine for the monthly threads, we only ask that they don't contain identifiable people. Would love to see more of your pics! Boxing day we spent up at our lake and it was raining up one end which looked really weird.

Reeshy, a picture that seems mundane to you will be welcomed by people to whom it is a novelty, so keep them coming! I enjoy the Northern Hemisphere snow photographs, but I also love the concept of a fellow Australian with an intermittent lake and kangaroos on her property! Food, architecture, horticulture are all favourites of mine, and I admire the craftwork of skilful hands. We "ladies of a certain age" who are owned by cats, cultivate herbs and mutter to ourselves - I think we're safe now, it's been a while since any of us has been immolated in public. Not to exclude dogs, of course! There was a delicate perfume in my garden all last week. Today I found the source when I parted the leaves of my Colocasia (Elephant's Ears). A spent flower is to the right, while a bud in the centre promises another burst of fragrance in a few days.

ah haaaa me hearties! Here is me treasure chest. My mother-in-law picked it up god knows where and as soon as I saw it I just had to have it. It's actually an old steamer trunk and from what we know it was made in about 1860 in Melbourne. If only I had treasure to fill it. Here is a link to it open treasure chest opened yeah, it's a bit knocked around but I think it's had a pretty hard life.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I'm encouraged now to put more of my photos onto here. I'm actually pretty proud of a lot of mine - I recently ordered prints of them from a photo site, and it was so great to have physical pictures for once! Most of my shots are landscapes or flowers, I think, but hopefully there is enough difference to keep people interested Here's one similar to the last one I posted: it's a sunrise over the River Kelvin in Glasgow, Scotland This was just fabulous in real life, and actually I was slightly late in getting to uni, but I couldn't walk past without taking a picture of this. I really like the way the pictures came out, but still they don't do it justice! Richard EDIT: A quick edit just to say I've really been enjoying seeing everyone else's pictures. It's interesting to see what other people like to photograph, and just to get a glimpse into other places in the world!

Welcome to the new arrivals, the only time I saw Glasgow was when my grandpa took a wrong turning on the motorway and we had to turn round as were aiming for Edinburgh. And that was over 40 years ago... When in doubt take a straight road, no two are exactly the same.

Some people here may be aware that I play competitive Scrabble, and I just had to share this game I played recently. I hope this works, because I am having troubles with Photobucket. A nine-timer in Scrabble is where a word hits two Triple Word Scores, and they are not common. They would be the equivalent of a hole in one in golf. I had only had about 6 or 7 in the seven years that I have been playing. In this game, I got two in a row! No-one had ever heard of this being done before, and I doubt whether I will ever do it again. My opponent got miles ahead with the amazing play of EXEQUY for 112 points, but picking up over 300 points in two moves was enough to beat him. I was still shaking with excitement ten minutes after the game.

It's interesting to see what other people like to photograph, and just to get a glimpse into other places in the world! That's exactly what I love about this forum. Welcome, Reeshy and Alex! Such beautiful photos. I really like your treasure chest, Copago. Congrats, Ozzz! That's an awesome achievement. The entrance to the Taj Mahal.

This is what usually greets me when I visit Sue. I am sure she would love you all to come round. I am there again in April, so perhaps not then...
