I find it convenient to have a bus stop close to home, especially at this time of year.

My Poinsettia has been in the garden for forty-plus years, and flowers in Winter, some seasons better than others.
Now it's behaving strangely. A week after Summer Solstice, in 40 deg. Celcius, it's producing true flowers - without the bracts.
They look like little fat-lipped extra-terrestrials!

I am just back from a few days in Lille and Ghent, where the weather was bitterly cold, but christmas markets and mulled wine made up for that! Here's a picture of Ghent's smallest house, originally a customs house, squished between two larger edifices:

Auntie: interesting. They may have come to the end of their life cycle, but the cool part is that you'll be able to collect the seeds later.

Santana: WoW what a great building! Does anyone actually live there? Or is it a historical landmark instead? Good that managed to get some people in the picture as that gives a sense of scale and just HOW small the building is (and how SHORT anyone in it would have to be LOL!)

I feel like I'm cheating, by putting nice sunny summery pictures in the December thread. Do photos in the December thread have to be taken in December? I'm beginning a 365 photo project tomorrow, so from then on the photos I put will be correspondent to the month of the thread



This one was taken in summer. It's in Perth, Scotland, which is my hometown. (Now, I promise my January photos will actually have been taken in January!)

Alex: Considering the weather HERE right now, I, for one am VERY happy to see such a verdant picture! Very nice perspective too, as many people might have focused on the bridge itself, rather than the serenity depicted below.

It has been quite warm here the last couple of days (relatively speaking) and much of our snow has melted. For this reason, Precious has been more adventurous when we go outside, and today she managed to get herself tangled up in the lilac bush.

Alex , it is fine to put pictures from whenever, yours is most acceptable to people who have bad weather!
