Super Bowl XLV
Tipping Comp

The scoring system will be the same as last year:
  • one point a correct pick in Weeks 1 and 2,
1 point for picking the winner of the AFC Championship Game,

4 bonus points for picking it in week 1,
3 bonus points for picking it in week 2,
2 bonus points for picking it in week 3.

  • tie-breaker :: if players are on equal points after the Super Bowl:
    (a) first team to score, then
    (b) leader at half-time, then
    (c) total points in Super Bowl then, if required,
    (d) aggregate total points of the two Championship Games combined.

The regular season hasn't been good to me, let's see how I do in the playoffs.

Just one question,

We get 4 points for guessing the Super Bowl winner, but we can only get 3 points in that week, max. How is that?

I suppose I might as well go for the repeat... I'll just have to balance my head and my heart since the Bears are in it this year.

You get 4 additional points if you pick the Superbowl winner before Week 1 of the playoffs. If that team you pick to win the Superbowl is knocked out of the playoffs before the Superbowl you can pick a different team to win the Superbowl, but for less additional points.

Didn't do so well this season but now that I know who the good teams are (I think) I'll try this one out.

Nope...not a one.

I've been around the site for 3 years but this is the first I have seen the "tipping competition". ...I know sad...

I would love to take part if you will have me. Maybe I will have a healthy dose of beginners luck!

I still have the Falcons/Pats in the Super Bowl. The 'Who Dat' Saints are going down! LOL.

The more the merrier rx.

Nothing wrong with taking your time finding the thread, I just started participating in the tipping threads last year myself and you know I have been around for a few years.

If you'd found it a little sooner, you'd have made only the second time in FT history to have 30 participants in any tipping comp (record is 32). wink Rx, you are welcome to join any comp at any time...just post your tips in the current thread and remember to bold/underline/italicize picks (as long as one team is in a different format and not regular font in the three I run, I am ok with that (prefer the bolding though)).

Just about all set now. Only thing still unknown is who will win the Sunday night game, which will determine the winner of the NFC West and who hosts New Orleans next week.

Doesn't matter who's gonna win the default division tonight, the Saints will beat them in double digits smile

A Saints fan freind of mine said the Saints were gonna beat the lowly Bucks with double digits yesterday as well. What happen LOL? Better not play like that for the next four games if they are lucky enough to play in them. shocked Atlanta Falcons all the way tongue Best of luck to everyone!
