Welcome all to this years competition. A special welcome to new tippers for this competition George95, N-Bomb, rxbigdawg, toocool4u, davegrilla, gillyharold and Dizart. This is also my first time in this competition.
No one is going to be perfect this year as the Saints gave us all a loss to start the competition. The Seahawks shocked everyone with thier home underdog win, as they shredded the Saints defense after starting a big slow.
Both wildcard teams upset division winners in the AFC, leading to the next weeks AFC match featuring two interdivisional games, with these teams meeting for the third time this year. During the regular season these teams split the two games agaisnt each other, New England won their game at home against the Jets and Pittsburgh lost to Baltimore in their house, but they were without their starting quarterback that game, Ben Roethlisberger.
The NFC had the only home team to win this round, as the Seahawks suprised everyone by beating last years Super Bowl winnrs. Green Bay held on against Philadelphia who might be looking for a new kicker in the off season.
Rxbigdawg storms onto the scene and takes the first week lead in the competition. He was the only one to get 3 right this week. 10 more tippers are 6 points behind him and an unclucky 3 are still stuck at the starting line.

It's 2 v 6 next week in both NFC and AFC championships.

Competition leader rxbigdawg went with all road teams last week and it paid off big dividends, this week he flipped the script and went with all home teams.
Rxbigdawg holds onto the lead getting 4 points from the #2 seeds this week, but gtho4, gillyharold and trivialpaul join him at the top of the leaderboard, all four having 21 points so far. Two more tippers are just 2 points behind at 19, while defending chamption illiniman14 is in a group 6 points behind at 15.
A tale of two halves and two great defenses in the Pittsburgh v Baltimore game. First half was all Baltimore as they took a 14 point lead off of defensive touchdowns and short fields set up by the defesne. The second half was just the opposite as the Pittsburgh defense set their offense up with short fields and the big pass play to Brown to set up the final score that gave Pittsburgh the win.
Green Bay has rocked the boat again with it's second upset road win of this playoffs. A lot of tippers lost future picks when the Atlanta defense got slashed by Aaron Rogers and the rest of the Packer offense.
The Seahawks didn't have enough to shock the football world a second time as the Bears handled them easily. The Seahawks scored most of their points in garbage time.
Only the competition organizer went with the Jets to avenge their 45 - 3 defeat in the Patriots house during the regular season.
Only 8 tippers have their AFC Champion left, 7 with Pittsburgh and 1 with New York. Themonarch still has Green Bay alive for the NFC Champion and BxBarracuda has Chicago to go along with his pick of New York. There are 5 tippers who still have their Superbowl winner alive, all are AFC teams, 4 having Pittsburgh and Bx has any chance of him winning the competition riding on New York.
Slight correction to the week 1 post, in the line for the Baltimore v Kansas City game, it was noted that 18 people picked picked Baltimore for a total of 80 points scored, it should have been a total of 90 points scored and total points for the week changed from 158 to 168. Thank You, to Davegrilla for catching that one.
KrivyRog ran default this week. While there was no set up for Default scoring in the rules, KrivyRog will receive the wooden spoon, lowest score of any active tipper, for the week.

The table is now set for the Super Bowl, it will be the Green Bay Packers vs the Pittsburgh Steelers. The AFC result has made me a bit blue.
Both winning teams dominated the first halves of their games and held off late comebacks for the wins. In both cases the winning Touchdown came from the defense.
Rxbigdawg is in first by himself again, but he has some tippers, led by dg_dave in secons place, who have a possible 4 bonus points if Pittsburgh wins, and that could have a serious effect on the podium positions.
Nine people grabbed advance pick bonus points, eight for the Steelers and one for Green Bay. Five people have a possible 4 bonus points if Pittsburgh wins, five more get 2 bonus points if Pittsburgh wins, five get 2 points if Green Bay wins and six tippers have no advance pick points left to gain.

Anyone got the latest Madden game? It looks like that's how we'll have to do next year's NFL comp! Madden '11 was wrong...they had the Steelers to win.

I think we have a first time player as first time winner. He picked Green Bay to win, and lead at halftime.
