I showed my grandson the dots inside the foxglove flower.
"Why are there dots, Gran?
"To guide the bees into the flower."
"But why does the flower want the bees to go in Gran?"
By the time he had stopped asking "Why?" I had explained the reproductive cycle of the foxglove.
Reminds me of his mother; while still in nappies she would select a male pumpkin flower and toddle into Dad's vegie patch announcing, "I will powwinate my Poppa's punkins!"
