I think its rugby LDV...
To be honest, I'd never heard of the league before this comp started! Plus, I didn't realise there was teams from South Africa playing until about Week 6 or 7!

It is definitely Rugby Union (aka 'thugby'). It is similar to Rugby League, which is the NRL in Australia and the Engage Superleague in UK, but a different game.

Dave, thanks a lot for the offer to do the results for this week  Actually it's not too tough doing the thing...I just wanted to retain the element of suspense over the final placings till the final results are posted, that's all (I know people can look up the scores on websites and compute by themselves, but don't think too many people do that) I will do both the rounds in one go next week....

It is definitely Rugby Union (aka 'thugby'). It is similar to Rugby League, which is the NRL in Australia and the Engage Superleague in UK, but a different game. It's actually the other game that is referred to as Thugby League and believe me, having played about 13 years of each, it is true. Rugby (union) is a true gentleman's game.

Looks like our podium here has been decided...or has it? illiniman14 has chosen a wrong week to go default and that has enabled Eraserhead and N-Bomb to seal two of the 3 podium places with one round to go!
illiniman is 2 clear of the chasing pack of paper_aero, srini701 and Sypher but can he hold them off for the final spot? Wait and see!
srini701 picks up his third HoF for the season, while MrFox picks up his seventh spoon!
On to the final week now

As I thought, it turned out to be an unpredictable final week that left us with one definite winner and a heartbreak for the one missing the podium!
Hearty Congratulations to N-Bomb first up, for pipping Eraserhead to the title of the 2011 Super XV Rugby tipping Champ  In a very high scoring final week, N-Bomb finished one of the many HoF winners, to finish one clear of Eraserhead. Even if there had been a tie in scores, N-Bomb would have finished higher in the standings on the HoF-spoon differential.
That differential is what determined our third podium place finally, with illiniman14 defaulting again(!!). That allowed Sypher to score a HoF for the round and catch up with illiniman14 on scores, but illiniman had a much better differential....Sypher will be wondering about the 4 away teams that won in the final week (also the spoon score, so not much Sypher could do there anyway  )...now, if only illiniman14 had tipped one or both of the last 2 weeks, we may have had a different order to the podium, but then that's for another day 
The 3 podium finishers all had 6 weekly wins each and they were followed in that column by ozzz2002, with 5. However, ozzz also had 3 spoons and finally finished mid-table, but he will probably be among those thinking "if only..." for this season's comp...
illiniman14 remained the ONLY person without a single spoon the whole season (impressive )
Davjack remained the ONLY person without a single HoF the whole season (he was pretty close a couple of times  )
paper_aero, Howie72 and gtho4 remained the ONLY people without a single bonus point the whole season and earned all their points the hard way....another lot who will be thinking "if only...."
conorharvey made a spectacular guest appearance for 3 weeks, snapped up a perfect score and a near perfect score from those 3 rounds, and then vanished totally! 
MrFox earned himself a nice set of cutlery for the season with some fantastic risks...he also earned the most bonus points if it's any consolation 
That's it for 2011 then....Many thanks to gtho4 for letting me run the comp and to all of you for taking part....I hope I will get a second chance at hosting this, and also hope I did not disappoint anybody with any inane comments/commentary Bricks and Bouquets invited
