Here's my Gardenia. 6 ft high, 10 ft wide, WNW exposure getting only an hour or two of sun in the late day. It will have over 500 blooms on it by the end of April. Opening the window shown floods the house with that heavy perfume scent of the gardenias. There was a citrus tree growing nearby in its youth so it may have benefitted from that fertilizer as well. That is a Podocarpus (fake Yew) which naturally seeded (thanks to mourning doves) rising up out of the rear of the bush.
